    "Closed-source software = malicious?" => it can be but not equal. It can happen also with open source to be malicious. It is happening also a lot on android applications. There are a lot of closed-source applications which are not malicious. Can be doesn't mean equal.

    Yes, it is working with no issues + appreciations = great job! Pushing again and again on a thing without having something which prove that, directing always the discussion in the same subject, has a name... paranoia.     looking at the discussions... There are not many or big issues reported and I see that there are many downloads. It means that it is a great FW. Found this fork (previous version) 4-5 months ago I think and it didn't disappointed me yet, still happy!

    User NVRAM Save/Restore Utility (R26.2)

    Hi John, As you requested, these are the three settings that I have done manually. I upgraded from HGG 380.57 to 380.57.1 on AC87U. Used "Y" for clear question 1. AdaptiveQoS_WebHistory.asp - Found "Enable Web History" on off. It was on before 2. Advanced_System_Content.asp - Found" Save syslog...

    Thank you, jesteves! Good to know. Meantime I used for the first time save-restore-nvram and it worked with the exception of 3 settings which I had to do it manually.

    Maybe somebody can help... If I upgrade from 380.57 to 380.57.1 do I need to hard reset? I know that it is better to put on clean but... I'm asking to see if I can save 1 hour of life :)

    Maybe 380.57.1 is solving the issue found by you. - FIXED: 5GHZ band forcing 20MHZ when using 20/40/80MHZ option on WEBUI, resulting in slower link speeds.

    Try to think a bit, where it was distributed? It was a link posted in a forum by somebody else. It means that this is not under GPL rules. On these conditions if you want his work you have to pay until he decide to release it for free (GPL) Officially, he had his work stored on mediafire for him...

    My tests were done with 40MHz, channel 40, power 70% and it's working very well. I tried 90% and the speed is much lower. Now I'm back to 70% (default one) and I'm happy again :) I didn't tried other combinations. I used this one because I have it set also in the previous version. I have AC87U

    Hi RMerlin, Please, continue to support PPTP on these routers if is not too difficult. PPTP is still part of Microsoft OS and Windows still has a big part of the market. Big fun of your firmware!
