Couldn't agree more! I just picked up 2 Zyxel NWA210AX APs and I am now seeing as high as a 940mbps via wifi on my Galaxy smartphone... lol I never thought wifi could be so good.

Can we please stop calling it mesh?

I'm not.... I don't need to look at links and I am aware of networking topologies. Mesh topology isn't only wireless. You are making a mountain out of a mole hill. What do you call a reciprocating saw (Sawzall) or a circular saw (Skill Saw)? We don't always use the technical terms in our day to...

Expand network to multiple outbuildings - Ubiquiti NanoStations?

Can we please stop calling it mesh?

I disagree, a mesh is wired or wireless or a combo of both. A mesh consists of multiple hardware Wi-Fi broadcasters that work together to form a single unified Wi-Fi network, controlled from a single place and nodes are setup from the main AP or HUB. Connecting multiple access points and...

XD4 AiMesh keeping clients on specific nodes

Mine are connected via Ethernet so that option isn't available.

XD4 AiMesh keeping clients on specific nodes

Asus AiMesh just does not work right. It doesn't connect devices to the stronger AP after a reboot of the network or over time after a reboot. The only way is to refresh the network after a reboot...... Then it will balance out.

Use XD4 as 3 seperate access points?

I want to but I'm waiting for Araknis to release wifi6 APs. I know they bought Access Networks earlier this year so I'm assuming it should be coming soon.

Use XD4 as 3 seperate access points?

It's looking that way.... Looks like these will go up for sale....

Use XD4 as 3 seperate access points?

Yea I'm using it that way right now.... AP/AiMesh mode..... But I can't setup the nodes as a seperate access point. . It appears I have to use AiMesh.....

Use XD4 as 3 seperate access points?

Has anyone been able to setup all 3 as seperate access points? AiMesh just doesn't work as I think it should. When I reboot my network 95% of my static devices will only connect to the main AP in AiMesh mode unless I push a wifi change then all my device will connect to the strongest AP. Sure...

XD4 AiMesh keeping clients on specific nodes

So do some of the Smart Connect Rule settings work without enabling SmartConnect?...Such as Bounce detect?

XD4 AiMesh keeping clients on specific nodes

There should be some roaming options in your wifi adapter settings in the laptop as well. I know my phone jumps without dropping but I also know that it's very random which node my clients connect to. It's not always the closest one..... ...but you're right.... AiMesh does not work as well as...

Zenwifi XT8 - can't get ethernet backhaul to work

Maybe I'm reading this wrong but you are creating a double NAT setup and probably other things..... You should let your ISP modem/router combo do the routing. Set the main XT8 to APmode and then connect the 2 other nodes

    NextDNS

Thanks for all the great feedback. I've been using NextDNS configured on my router for ipv4 and ipv6 for the past 24hrs. The have a 7 days trial before the limits kick in for the free version. I love how well it does at blocking ads. 20 bucks a year is fair for me. I also like that I can...
