    AiMesh AC86U / AC68U feasible?

    One thing to add which has helped me is disabling Randomized MAC address under the wifi advanced settings. When my device use to hop it would see a different MAC and give a different IP address. I have now disabled this setting on all my devices in the house that do this.

    RT-AC68U in Media Bridge mode won't go faster than 288.9 Mbps. Main router = AX-88U. RSSI @ AC-68U is a strong -35dBm.

    That is crazy... great detective work.

    Aimesh roaming delay time more than 10 seconds

    This is what fixed it for me as well. I had to change all my phones and tablets.

    Any chance we are going to see this? I've been using one as a node with my AC88u and have the Ethernet backhaul engaged which the firmware says the BC doesn't support it but it's working, also I enabled Roaming assistant and that appears to be working as well.

    BlueCave Ethernet backhaul not working

    Well, I figured it out on my own it appears..... I had to disable Ethernet BackHaul Mode under AiMESH system settings then I selected the node and went into the management settings for BackHaul Connection Priority and I selected Ethernet First. Now my node shows an Ethernet Uplink.

    BlueCave Ethernet backhaul not working

    I just got my BlueCave to use as an AiMesh node in my garage and it's using the 5ghz uplink even though I specify Ethernet. This is what it says next to the name about it being temporarily not supported? What gives?

    Yes I get that but would overall performance be better if you have a Tri-Band with a dedicated wifi 6 band vs a dual band with mixed wifi5&6 devices on the 5ghz band.

    Right, the main unit has 2 ports and the other 2 have 1 port so if you need a satellite with one lan port for more than one Ethernet connection then you have to use a switch along with the satellite if using the Ethernet backhaul.

    Asus ZenWiFi XT8 vs. RT-AX86U for small apartment

    Too many variables and you'll get all kinds of opinions. You could test it and return it if it doesn't work, you could also try powerline ethernet adapters to make the backbone wired and place them further apart too. Many options.
