    Site-to-Site OpenVPN CA name?

This is probably a really dumb question, but what goes into the Common Name(CN) field, when creating a site-to-site VPN? My site-to-site works just fine with the VPN username, but I am using " Username / Password Auth. Only " and would strongly prefer to use a cert. It keeps throwing auth...

Attaching fans to AC68u. What tape/adhesive to use?

Yup, 3M Molding Tape is ideal.

How to modify MAC filter from command line?

Thanks, I do really appreciate it. Having to restart WiFi is a dealbreaker. In retrospect, it should have been obvious, since modifying the ACL through the GUI causes disconnects, but I hadn't thought it through. This little project is clearly not the non-trivial thing that it first looked...

How to modify MAC filter from command line?

Frankly I just didn't understand it, it looks like much more than I need. I am really just wondering if there is a way to modify the MAC ACL for a particular WLAN. I tried parsing through the script to find relevant parts, but I was quickly confused, so asking for a translation, or even a nudge...

Is anyone able to help with this?

How to modify MAC filter from command line?

There are a few threads about this, like https://www.snbforums.com/threads/howto-update-mac-filter-from-command-line.20611/ but I can't figure out how to modify it for my needs. Is it possible to add/remove a machine from a MAC filter from the command line on an AC86U? The goal is to be able...

    Spectrum service, not.

The outages became much more frequent here also, so I added a Linksys LB1120 4G modem to back up Spectrum. The AC86U flips over automatically, and a Home Assistant script detects the change in IP, alerts me, and automatically disconnects several bandwidth intensive network services, to save on...

AC86U Web History - not working at all

Your frustration is palpable, yet you handle it so well. But you DO know that we love you, right?

If you use Alexa or Google Assistant, read this

We are up to 5 now, and I am kinda leaning toward getting a Studio. The Amazon delivery notifications are really handy, the alarm and reminder features are great, and being able to essentially verbally google things is surprisingly addictive. When at locations that don't have Alexa, I find...

Do settings from Wireless all carry over to Guest WiFi?

I have not, but it returns 0 regardless of whether protected management frames is on or off, so I am not sure what it is doing.

How to start / stop IPSec VPN server from CLI?

Thanks. That command reports Done as if it worked, but the VPN remains on or off, whichever it originally was.

How to start / stop IPSec VPN server from CLI?

I apologize for this, it is probably posted somewhere already, but I can't find it. I just want to start / stop the IPSec VPN server from the command line.

Do settings from Wireless all carry over to Guest WiFi?

wl -i wl0.1 mfp returns 0, but I can't find a command that changes the state of protected management frames.

Do settings from Wireless all carry over to Guest WiFi?

Thanks kindly, that helps a lot. I will report back if it works on AC86U for the sake of posterity. I discovered that one TV doesn't work with PMF required and it drops connection when PMF is set to Capable. The specific TV is not used much, so putting a quick on/off switch in Home Assistant is...

Do settings from Wireless all carry over to Guest WiFi?

Please forgive if this is a silly question. It seems obvious, but I can't easily find a definitive answer, and I am not sure how to design an experiment that would prove this either way for all cases. Specifically, if Protected Management Frames is enabled in Wireless settings 2.4 GHz (on an...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 is now available

Tempted to ask you to upload a Guinness so that we can all toast RMerlin together, but that fine stout is known to break down when TCP encapsulated. So, a virtual toast to our favorite dev, in hopes he returns soon. (Come'on, Asus...)

Looking at an AC86U. Are there still issues with the 2.4Ghz band?

It should be pretty easy to see for yourself. Turn off the AC86U and check the S/I of the AC68U, then turn off the AC68U and check the S/I of the AC86U, then turn them both on and check both. Compare results.

Attaching fans to AC68u. What tape/adhesive to use?

FWIW, I added one of these: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XDGXWC3/?tag=snbforums-20 ...and temp dropped almost 20° F within 10 minutes. The fan has a pot to control speed, and it makes very little sound. I plugged the power into a USB AC adapter, which is plugged into a KMC 70011 smart...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 384.19 is now available

I want Vertex Pharmaceuticals (VRTX) to go back up to $300. But RMerlin can't really help either of us.
