Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

I had problems with SIP Passthrough many asus routers and years ago (May have been when I still had Vonage) and it's one of the items on my list to 'Disable' everytime after a full reset.... Using a OBI202 with Google Voice, Sipgate and Callcentric and no problems with it disabled

AX86U and AT&T 1 gig upload speed problem

I am happy to give it a try since I am on 1 Gig Fiber as well - but I'd need an external source that can handle the speed for testing

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

The FWID seems to be even more strange - looking through the thread above it looks like two different FWIDs reported and mine is different from both I installed the same build 2 hours ago and mine shows: Model RT-AX86U Firmware Version 386.7_1-gcbedbbd5b0 wl1: Jul 2 2022 12:07:27...

AX86U and AT&T 1 gig upload speed problem

There must be something more going on. I have no problem hitting 940mbps up and down on Quantum Fiber with the RT-AX86U. Without AI Protection on I can also hit approx 860/860 mpbs up and down at the same time which is as good as 1Gig ethernet gets.... Only when I turn AI Protection on do I have...

Intermittent loss of Wi-Fi since upgrading to 386.7

Performance near and far from router is slightly better for me with this one (~10-% improvement - so just a hair above variation of measurements). Also the UNII-4 channels have disappeared again from the dropdown... I'll keep it running in 'production' with WiFi TV Streaming etc. tonight and...

Intermittent loss of Wi-Fi since upgrading to 386.7

Slow Friday here so I installed the test build on my RT-AX86U right away. Running for 30 minutes so far. No problems - no instability - however: I didn't see any concrete evidence of issues on 386.7 either so take this more as a 'the test build didn't break anything' response...

Asus RT-AX86U dropping WAN connection to Arris S33

Yes indeed. Looks like you are losing downstream signal at some point. Once it's gone for more than a few seconds the modem reboots. Interestingly on reboot the signal is still not quite there yet - see the additional SYNC Timing errors.... but comes back before another reboot.... These reboots...

Asus RT-AX86U Verses RT-AC86U Wireless Signal Strength

You have the opposite of my experience: I switched from the AC68U to the AX86U about a month ago and would say 2.4 Ghz is about the same and on 5 Ghz the AX86U reaches significantly further and faster than the old one. I am using AsusMerlinWRT 386.7 - but I don't think that makes a difference...

Asus RT-AX86U dropping WAN connection to Arris S33

Take a look at the logs on the S33: If there is a Comcast line issue (e.g. excessive T3/T4 timeouts) the modem will reboot and you will see link down/up messages... We should be able to help interpret here or in the Comcast/Xfinity forum at dslreports https://www.dslreports.com/forum/comcast if...

    Dual WAN failover/failback

Switch the Firmware to the latest AsusWRT-Merlin and use the script developed by @Ranger802004 : https://www.snbforums.com/threads/dual-wan-failover-script.78978/ I am using it with 1000/1000 fiber primary and 60/18 cable backup - works like a charm!

Thank you - this is a much cleaner way of doing it and not having to update that often

    WANFailover Dual WAN Failover Script

Updated to v1.5.4 yesterday - added my manual route to the Cablemodem - then rebooted, tested failover/fallback and all is working well - thank you :)

    RT-AX86U to be discontinued?

It will be very interesting to see what the Pro will have and at what price point. I upgraded to the RT-AX86U (from my trusty RT-AC68P) about a month ago when I prepared for the switch to symmetrical Gig Fiber and it's working well both wired and wireless - but I am a bit disappointed on the...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

As a first I woudl try another Ethernet cable: I had the same on my RT-AC68P on the WAN to Cable Modem (SB6183) link a while back and was sure it was a port going bad since it happened randomly after a while. On a hunch I replaced the cable and the problem went away and never returned...

    WANFailover Dual WAN Failover Script

After spending another day with this great scripts I have a feature suggestion: Add a configurable parameter for an additional route entry for each WAN (or at least the standby WAN): This route entry allows to check the status of a standby Modem while not in use. In my case: My Cablemodem is...

RT-AX88U w/ Centurylink ONT -- Persistent Disconnects (HELP?)

I would go the double NAT route first for a couple of days. If it still keeps happening it's likely the ONT or Fiber Connection - if it goes away need to closer what happens with the RT-AX88U. I am on Quantum Fiber (new Name used by Lumen) in a new buildout area with just VLAN 201 - no PPoE...

    WANFailover Dual WAN Failover Script

Add me to the list of happy 'customers': Highlights: RT-AX86U AsusWrt-Merlin 386.7 Script Version V1.4.6 Main Provider: Quantum Fiber (Lumen/Centurylink) symmetrical 1Gbps Standby Provider: Comcast 100/15 Mbps My main struggle to get everything up and running was not related to this script...

Dual Wan Failover - Individual WAN VLAN settings needed

Thanks Ranger for the reply Yes - I have assigned the VLAN ID just as your screenshot shows - the problem is it is then applied to the primary and secondary WAN and the secondary only works without a VLAN ID - but I think I just solved it for me: On a hunch - after looking at the nvram...
