    Custom device icons not displaying correctly in the app but shows up correctly when logged in from the web UI. [RT-AC86U] I updated every single device with custom icons for easy recognition. I did this from the mobile app and everything looked good and worked fine for about couple of days...

    Asus UI/Mobile app - notify when new device connects to network

    Is there an option in the UI on Asus or Merlin firmware to get a notification when a new device joins your network? TP link deco mobile app has this and was wondering surely Asus should also have it but I can't find it anywhere. I have the AC86U on latest Merlin firmware. Thanks in advance

    Yes Yes I agree I usually never HAVE to use the bandwidth limiter but when I do, I know the gigabit speeds are gone. Once bandwidth limiter is turned off, I get the 950mbps wired speeds back. I'm aware of this one :) It's just the ability the do it worth a lot to me when needed.. stubborn...

    We We have 1 x MacBook pro, 2x iphone 8, 2x Google home mini and all of these are just for browsing internet. All my high speed downloading is done by a server that is wired.     Hah a, That's a whole lot of issues that they fixed. I didn't even know that could be that many issues in production environment.. Does Synology have open VPN built-in? And a user interface for effective parental controls as good as Asus?

    Wow, that really puts things in perspective for me. I guess now my only options are too either be brave and flash DDWRT in my Linksys OR get the AC86u and try find which firmware is the latest and most stable. Damn, was super keen on the BRT as it has so much hardware for the money!!

    Interesting. Due to being a small house, range wasn't really an issue to start with and then again with old Linksys the speeds are adequate. So speed performance improvement is kinda irrelevant. Hence why I made this thread to get info on BRT would perform similar or better than ac86 solely...
