Really disappointed with AiMesh, I switched to something else

I fully agree with you, mate. 1) Couldn't have put it better myself, that would be a really sensible approach. As it is, we can choose between routers which, admittedly, appear semi-abandoned as regards firmware updates (TP-Link), or ones with firmware that gets buggier and buggier with each new...

Really disappointed with AiMesh, I switched to something else

Depends how you look at it, OE. On the one hand, you could say that you're missing the latest security updates, etc. A valid point, I guess. But on the other you could argue that a firmware which works stable, even if relatively old, is worth more (much more) to the average user than a multitude...

Really disappointed with AiMesh, I switched to something else

    You could try this. I've tried it, I'm using it, and I like it: 1 x TP-Link C4000, 2 x TP-Link WPA8630, 1 x TP-Link RE650. The C4000 gives out three bands - 2.4 GHz, 5 GHZ and 5 GHz, the 2 8630s extend wired and wireless (the 2.4 GHz and 1 x 5 GHz), while the RE650 extends the other 5 GHz...

    Weird country code on RT-AC86U

I see, my error (and eyesight) then. Must have been misled by 'World Meteorological Organisation' right next to E0 (E zero) or EO (E oh).

    Weird country code on RT-AC86U

According to this source: http://www.statoids.com/wab.html, EO is the country code used by the World Meteorological Organisation for Estonia. But I've no idea how you'd associate Estonia with the UK.

RT-AC86U - WPS, Wi-Fi and LED on/off buttons not working

Well, the shop has been very understanding, got my money back in full - no questions asked. Guess I'll be sticking with the C4000, works excellently as advertised, no surprises, no self-tripped reboots, no headaches.

RT-AC86U - WPS, Wi-Fi and LED on/off buttons not working

Thank you! I've sent the RT-AC86U back to the shop, hopefully I'll get a refund. In the the meantime I've bought a TP-Link C4000, very impressed so far.

RT-AC86U - WPS, Wi-Fi and LED on/off buttons not working

Thanks! I was afraid that could be the case. Just to be on the safe side, I'll wait for some more responses (hopefully), but "warranty time" is probably the way to go. And on a philosophical note - what the hell is going wrong with Asus? A year of pretty light use and this ... Oh well.

RT-AC86U - WPS, Wi-Fi and LED on/off buttons not working

Hello all, Long-time lurker here, finally decided to sign up. I've been using the RT-AC86U for just over a year now, more or less successfully. Recently, however, I've run into a problem - the WPS, wi-fi and LED on/of buttons (all three at once) simply do not work. If I reboot the router or...
