Replacing the Asus RT-AC68U - need something with good range

A week ago my trusty AC68U suddenly stopped working. I was able to reset it so its ok for now. I also noticed that the last firmware is July and Im thinking that if it ever break, what can I replace it with. My main considerations are: range - I can't wire things in the house. We also have...

    Wireless router with dual wan

You can set it to failover only or load balance. You can also set the weight(i.e. 50/50, 70/30) if load balance

    Wireless router with dual wan

I have the ER-X for dual-wan and I would recommend it as well. It has wizard setup if you don't want to concern yourself with the nitty-gritty

    TP-Link Omada

Unifi has a wireless uplink functionality(from what I read) if you can't wire your APs. Its their "mesh" implementation. I wonder if TPLink has that similar functionality..

    TP-Link Omada

Is it a mesh setup? Also how is the range of a single eap245 vs an asus router?

Attaching fans to AC68u. What tape/adhesive to use?

As advised, I bought a scotch extremely strong mounting tape and so far the router still sticks at the back of the router. I bought an AC Infinity fan. At low it was able to cool my router CPU from 80ish to 60ish..

Attaching fans to AC68u. What tape/adhesive to use?

I have an AC68u and I put two fans behind it to cool it off. I used a double-sided tape to attach the fan but it fell off after three days. I saw some guys here before attaching fans to their routers, what tape/adhesive did you use to attach the fan?

Asus router as Repeater can't adjust Tx power

I was asking because I set the TX power at the middle(I think the middle is called balanced) before I turned the router into a repeater. I was wondering if that setting was preserved or it reverted to default(performance).

Asus router as Repeater can't adjust Tx power

I used my n18u as a repeater and I noticed that I can't set Tx power(wireless tab does not appear) when in repeater mode. Is that the same for other Asus router when in repeater mode?

UAP-AC-LR vs Asus AC68U in terms of range

How does the two compare in terms of range? I have an AC68u right now and I need a repeater(I can't wire things). Im curious about Ubiquiti since it looks better. I won't be mounting the Ubiquiti it on the ceiling if ever though. The NanoHD here costs around 200USD. The LR costs around 120...

Setting up ER-X with AC68U as AP

If I assign manually and the ER-X breaks, can I just assign an IP to my laptop then connect to the AP, can I access the AC68U's admin page?

Setting up ER-X with AC68U as AP

I just recently bought an Edgrouter X(will arrive on the weekend). I currently have an AC68U as a router. Reason for buying an ER-X is because Im not comfortable using Asus' QOS with TrendMicro's data collection. I do have some question: I will probably just use the wizard to setup ER-X then...

    AC86U vs AC68U

I got the AC68U last week. I got the C1 version. I initially loaded the latest firmware then loaded Merlin(latest) later on. For stability, its been up for five days. No dropping of connections(on good signal). On range I believe it's the same with N18U. The upside of the N18U is that I didn't...

    AC86U vs AC68U

We can't return after we buy unless it doesn't work. If I can return, I would have just bought and exchange if I don't like the performance. Below the ac68u, there are only non-mainstream asus routers(ac1300 etc).

    AC86U vs AC68U

Hahaha! We don't have ac66u here. Phased out.

    AC86U vs AC68U

Its only 15Mb dsl.. IF fiber comes to our area I might see 100Mb so shouldn't be a problem on any routers today.
