Samsung Chronos with Intel 6235 takes long time to connect in Windows 8.1

Thanks. Tried that earlier, no difference. I tried two different APs as well. Doesn't matter which band I'm in, also. Really, it just takes about a minute for it to finally connect once it's booted. It's just longer than I'm used to and think it started recently - perhaps from the 8.1 update.

Samsung Chronos with Intel 6235 takes long time to connect in Windows 8.1

It seems that ever since I updated to 8.1 this started happening. I have Intel version 15.9.1.2 drivers and the AP is an ASUS RT-N66U. All other devices connect fine on both bands. As of recently, if I boot up, it takes a minute for it to finally connect. After it finally connects, it's stable...

ASUS switch freezing after large transfers?

After research, I need to close this thread and have started a new one. Not sure how to delete this thread.

Transfers to one PC breaking entire network?

I'm trying to figure out if the PCI NIC (made in 2003) is failing. Here are the symptoms: 1. Sometimes on large transfers TO this server, it will freeze the transfer. At that time, the entire network seems to come to a craaaawwwwwlllll and I can't connect to anything. Shutting down the machine...

ASUS switch freezing after large transfers?

EDIT: the switch is TP-link, not d-link, and is unmanaged My very crude network layout is below. I'm making large (e.g., 80+ GB) transfers from SERVER to SERVER2 over the network. Everything seems to be fine until some time into the transfer (it could be 30 minutes at times), the ASUS switch...

    Newer RT-N66U firmwares are slower?

Actually, one last thing. Do we know if the Centrino issues in the latest 3.0.0.4.374.257 stock build are actually fixed? THIS is what I was using and still noticed odd issues. I can't seem to find anything on this site that talks specifically about that. Maybe I'll start a new thread?

    Newer RT-N66U firmwares are slower?

Ah, I noticed that the latest merlin FW is still using the old driver from 270. Hoping this will fix my 5ghz issues (as it says). I guess I'm not so crazy after all. Thanks!

    Newer RT-N66U firmwares are slower?

I did a reset after going from one of the older ones to a one before latest (200 => 300?) and still noticed odd issues. So, I decided to give merlin's latest a try. If I still see issues, I'll roll back to the oldest one on ASUS's site is. I'm completely new to merlin's FW (I used to use...

    Newer RT-N66U firmwares are slower?

Thank you. I'll try to revert to the original firmware before trying merlin's. Do you know exactly what the known issue is? Is it just limited to wireless or are there other performance issues? For example, I noticed when transferring large files at a rate of only about 30 MB/s between two...

    Newer RT-N66U firmwares are slower?

I have two laptops running in 5GHZ: an intel 6235N and intel 5100. I remember buying this router and everything seemed way faster than my old linksys wrt610n. The asus came with one of the older firmwares. I updated to the firmware before the latest (the one where they fixed the centrino...

Enhanced interference management missing in latest ASUS RT-N66U firmwares?

Just confirming with the crowd if this was in fact removed or if my router is screwed up. I noticed the option for it is in the HTML source code, but it's disabled. When was this removed and why? Thanks.
