    that is a good point , but in the test documentation it did provide specific links to test the three areas aiprotection looks at , and you gotta make sure they are enabled b4 testing as they will hijack yer comp other wise , lucky my test comp was sand boxed lol as even i forgot to check b4...

    i can tell you the aiprotect on the new asus 382 units does not work over the cpu as much as it does on the rt2600ac , ips on the rt2600ac is still very noticeable in how it degrades performance , aiprotect 382 doesnt seem to effect performance as much or be as noticeable in normal use

    if you have ethernet from the router to bedroom certainly use a wireless access point in the bedroom if you dont have ethernet to the bedroom just get a orbi rbk50 , thats the orbi router and 1 x sat

    as suggested by tim you could get the asus rt-ac68u and run it in ap mode but you may as well just use dedicated access points like ubiquiti unifi and a ubiquiti edge router if you have ethernet drops

    you would need a great big house to implement 3 ac router wifi and not have far to much overlap you would only need merlin on the actual primary router as those in AP mode would gain nothing from merlin fw as it doesnt improve the wifi its self at all

    its a work around and not a fix , reducing to 40mhz halves the throughput the ac is capable of

    why would you do that , its just reduces the max sync rate by 1/3

    well you may need to investigate why the ZyXEL drops the signal , perhaps set it to a specific channel and channel bandwidth , it may however just be a compatibility issue between the chipsets

    i think this is one of the issues that can be caused by repeating i would suggest its not the asus but the ZyXEL that may be dropping the wifi even for a very short period of time and the issue with repeaters is they can struggle to reconnect after an outage like this and do require the...
