    iPerf results in bits/sec

I'm actually thinking of doing this and returning this NAS. I kind of bought it on a whim when I inherited the drives lol. I have an old Dell SFF pc that's to small and it has a proprietary MB. I was going to salvage the i7-8700, M.2 drive, 32gb Memory and buy a new case, MB and power supply...

    iPerf results in bits/sec

That's the same website I use too haha. I was debating on a Raid 6 or 10 but it was losing space. I'm using 4x3tb drives and even in a Raid5 I'm only 8.10tb usable and I already have 3.31tb of data in there which. That only leaves me with 4.79tb. In a raid10 with my current drives I'll get...

    iPerf results in bits/sec

@Tech Junky Oh yea, very good point. My NAS is setup with a Raid 5 with 4 disks. I believe is a 3x read speed but no write speed gains. Maybe the extra bandwidth would go to waste when I'm writing data to the NAS. That makes perfect sense.

    iPerf results in bits/sec

Honestly, a test of both. My NAS has dual 2.5gbe NIC's that can be aggregated to 5gb and my computer has a single 2.5gbe NIC. I wanted to take advantage of those speeds but can't because the location of my office. So this test was to see if I can get speeds that I'd be happy with or spend more...

    iPerf results in bits/sec

Thanks Tech Junky, that's good to know considering Its hardwired to Wifi6. Here's another test. NAS is set as the Server and my Galaxy s20+ is the client. Again, the NAS is connected directly to my router and my phone is obviously on wifi 6. For some reason the iPerf between the NAS and my PC...

    iPerf results in bits/sec

Lol glad I'm not crazy and reading this wrong. I did another test from my Galaxy S20+ which has wifi 6 to my PC. These look more normal than the NAS to my PC. When I copy a file from my PC (Wifi6) to my NAS its pretty normal. Roughly 80-90MB/s for a 2.5gb file. If I copy it back NAS>PC its 113MB/s.

    iPerf results in bits/sec

I'm trying to some network speed test with iPerf from my PC to a new NAS that I just purchased. I know the network is not ideal so iPerf is help me decide if I want to upgrade or not. I have the NAS set as the client and my PC which is on Wifi6 as the Server. The network looks like this. NAS >...

NAS with dual 2.5gb Nics how to make the most of it.

Thank you for showing me that case. I heard of Fractal but never seen that case before it can hold a lot of drives lol. I was thinking of taking the processor, ram and m.2 from that Dell computer and just getting a mobo and case for something like that. I just received my NAS and have been...

NAS with dual 2.5gb Nics how to make the most of it.

I just started looking into this SFF Dell PC and apparently it's not compatible with any ATX stuff including PSU's. I was looking at DAS with 6+ drive bays but that started to push me into NAS price range so I decided to go with that. There were some cheaper NAS but this one had really got...

NAS with dual 2.5gb Nics how to make the most of it.

I may have underestimated this project lol. I would only be transferring files between my primary PC and the NAS. The initial setup would have the largest network load since its roughly 3tb of data. I could ADHOC that NAS/PC to move the data then move the NAS up to the router and use the 2.5gb...

NAS with dual 2.5gb Nics how to make the most of it.

That is a good idea, I forgot I can do a mesh system with the Asus routers. I'd really hate to spend $250 on another router and more $$$ on switches. I'm really trying to make do with what I have right now lol.

NAS with dual 2.5gb Nics how to make the most of it.

Hello, I just purchased this NAS, Asustor Lockerstor 4 AS6604t. It has two 2.5gb NIC's that can be aggregated to 5gb. My router is an Asus AX86u that has a 2.5gb port as well. My PC is on Wifi6 because I'm on a different floor than the modem and router but my PC also has 2.5gb NIC. I do video...

Upgraded my AX86u to latest firmware and having issues

I did the update via the Android app as well. Just need another test. Netflix - connection error and 1 of 3 servers can connect Amazon prime video - works fine Discovery+ streaming- works fine YouTube and kids YT - won't play anything. I tested this on my s20, my wife's s20, iPad and iPhone and...

Upgraded my AX86u to latest firmware and having issues

See this is all I see when I try to watch YouTube and kids YouTube. When I turn wifi off everything works. My 3 computer are still online and connecting to the web. I'm using my s20 to write this. Web browsing is not affected.

Upgraded my AX86u to latest firmware and having issues

I updated the latest version (3.0.0.4.386_45898) and now I can't watch any YouTube or Netflix on any device in the house. Also any Alexa devices now. For instance. My Galaxy s20 can browse the internet but YouTube, kids YouTube just spin and spin when I click a video and the thumbnails are...

Release ASUS RT-AX86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.42840

I agree. If my devices are getting really high speed results then there is some sort of bug with the routers speed test.

Release ASUS RT-AX86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.42840

I did more speediest and sometimes I'd hit 900-950 but half the time it's 500-600. I figured out my internet drops. My cable modem kept unplugging every time my son closed a drawer. It was bumping my power strip and hitting the modem plug lol.

Release ASUS RT-AX86U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.42840

Same here. I'm getting 600mbps down on the speed test within the Asus router app but with the Ookla speed test app on my Apple TV connected directly to the router I'm getting 850-950 down. Also, not sure if it's my modem or my router but I'm loosing internet for roughly 3min several times a...

    Asus Zenwifi Xt8 issues.

Glad you got it worked out. I had mine on a nightstand in my office and the node on a shelf about 5ft high off the ground. I never tried it any lower because the Node was reboot on its own or shutoff for hours without coming back on so I just returned it.

    Asus Zenwifi Xt8 issues.

@gemini38 I agree. I was so pumped to get the XT8 especially since it was sold out everywhere. All the reviews checked out and was excellent. But it was terrible when I got my hands on it. Only thing to get full speeds was my PC that was hardwired to it. Anything else was just sub-par. For the...
