    Lost static DHCP list

I already have them all saved - but as I wrote I lost them 4 (four) times... And I never lost MAC addresses before DoT.
  2. B

    Lost static DHCP list

Hmm interesting, I also suspect DoT...

    Lost static DHCP list

Well I am only on 384_12, and I am thinking of 384_14 - however before that I would like to see that the MAC addresses (lists) are stable again. That being said, I might very well upgrade anyway, and do it the hard way (enter everything from scratch again) just to be sure.

    Lost static DHCP list

AX88 with RMerlin 384_12. The thing that is strange is that it is only the MAC addresses that are gone (they are part of DHCP static reservations and WiFi MAC address filter) - nothing else. How can this kind of "selective" erase of NVRAM variables even occur?
  5. B

    Lost static DHCP list

Yes the MACfilter list is gone - no wonder no WiFi devices can connect...

    Lost static DHCP list

And now I lost both Wifi, 2.4 and 5GHz. There is something really strange going on.

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Well it is a free world after all is it not? That also means that I can decide not to let some countries be acceptable for connection. Which is why I block a lot more than on that rather short list, and you know what, internet works just fine.

    Lost static DHCP list

The only thing I can remember that is changed is that I turned on DoT on DNS settings - I have a very hard time imaging that this change could trigger this....

    Lost static DHCP list

Lost it again! 3rd time and well not that long ago last time - what is going on here....

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

I may not concur on this. I think there is a reason for blocking countries, and that is if you for example browse the web and hit a webpage that has for example an ad (-provider) which is hosted in a country where one may or may not like/prefer to be connected to.

    Lost static DHCP list

No - just letters (not even any numbers). I find this a bit strange, it has worked for well very long time (I am after all on 384_12). And now for some freak reason it starts to fail... I will add them all to dnsmasq.conf.add as you suggest so I don't lose them again (well I have them saved...

    Lost static DHCP list

61953 bytes used out of 131072, so no issue there...

    Lost static DHCP list

I have lost the static DHCP reservation list twice now - anyone has had anything like this (I am on 384_12)?

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

We will most likely never agree - so let's agree that we do not agree - I know what I like, you prefer it differently. I know from my experience that rebuild, from scratch to full blown with the commands / script needed is superior to any backup, since you will need to validate the backup on a...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

So the fact is, you don't save which lists are imported. Just what's inside each list.

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Well that assumes that the backup of the installation is 100% correct and that no errors are part of that specific backup that one might restore. Keep in mind, every week or so you already reload all information from all sites (URL/Countries and so on) - so what is the difference?

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

I guess I am to old then, since re-install from scratch has proven to be the best solution in all the time I worked with Linux and Windows.

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

What I am after is from a Korn or BASH Linux shell script: 1) Install (that is documented on page #1, post #1 so no need for that one) - and do have a look on L&LDs recommendation (se last line of this post) 2) Automagic setup by issuing all the commands that I have on my current config WITHOUT...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Yes I know that, but it is not what I asked for. You can not run that gz file as a bash script....

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Is there any way to get a "install script" produced, that is basically just a long list like: sh /jffs/scripts/firewall import https://check.torproject.org/cgi-bin/TorBulkExitList.py?ip=1.1.1.1 sh /jffs/scripts/firewall ban country What I am after is a way to copy my settings to my mothers...
