VPN and then two Dlink IP Cameras?

Well I would love to change to say Netgear Arlo - however I refuse to be dependent on the cloud. I would like just simple IP Cameras, that well just works.

VPN and then two Dlink IP Cameras?

I have validate that turning on internet access for (one of my) ip camera will allow me to connect from inside over VPN. So clearly the IPTables filter is the reason for not being able earlier. Will try RMerlin suggestion later today. @dosborne - not sure how to do this, could you help me?

VPN and then two Dlink IP Cameras?

So I have, yet again, open up my AX88 for OpenVPN - of course that works perfect. Then I have two rather old D-Link IP cameras. They like to call "home" so I stopped that in the GUI (which will create a DROP everything kind of IPTables filter I guess). However that also seems to stop me from...

    Wan Down Event and/or Notification?

Maybe something like this? #!/bin/sh # # loggninginfo in syslog scr_name="$(basename $0)[$$]" # Check to see if this script already is running...? if [ ! -d /tmp/CheckInternet ]; then echo "CheckIfInternet is missing, will create map." | logger -t $scr_name mkdir /tmp/CheckInternet else...

I was runnig HE disabled, 80MHz and fixed channel. Now trying the oposit so HE enabled, 160MHz and auto, and it works again... very strange... oh...

    Entware unifi controller?

I think you also need Java for it to work - but I might be wrong.

    Entware unifi controller?

Well, I am not sure I need to add anything more, however for the record: Yes on an RPi one can run the debian version of Unify Controller, if you are running Raspbian. And yes it is ARM and yes it is ARM in for example my AX88 router. However it is not a Debian OS on the AX88, and I for one do...

    Entware unifi controller?

Unifi Controller software is only available on Windows, MacOS and Ubuntu/Debian Linux (I would guess x86 CPU, so no ARM version even possible to download).

Your suggestions needed for router upgrade

AC86 is most likely the best "bang-for-the-buck" router from Asus if we are to consider some sort of future proof?

    ac2400 vs ac1900

Aha - here in Europe that one is not that known. Seems to be an AC68 anyway. Sorry!
  12. B

    ac2400 vs ac1900

Again, write what MODEL of ROUTERS you are referring to - just AC87 is not enough, what router is the AC1900? And by the way AC1900 and AC2400 only covers a theoretical wireless performance - has noting to do with WAN2LAN.

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

May I suggest that is included on page 1 of this thread?

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Okay, so nobody seems to know what a minimum configuration of Skynet is = "It is the one stop shop for router security and the first line of defense in your home network." ?

Wireless MAC Filter bug or feature?

Correct, that would demand VLAN for each port on the router, and I do not think that is possible - but I might be wrong? And VLAN is not on MAC address it is only for what the VLAN is defined for so it still is not good enough most likly (this is where I loved my pfSense firewall I tested -...

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Has anyone any well let's call it a default start for what is good to use? Background: I have been using yet another script, and it still just works. So what do I need with Skynet? Well block countries I already have. What more? Autobahn is on from install?

Wireless MAC Filter bug or feature?

Well that would depend on what we say about MAC filtering and IPTABLES commands, at least this is what I found when I googled: Drop all connection coming from mac address 00:0F:EA:91:04:08 (add the following command to your firewall script): /sbin/iptables -A INPUT -m mac --mac-source...

Asus RT-AX88 vs Asus RT-AC86+switch? And if AC86, which Switch? I got an Asus RT-AX88!

For some reason someone seems to have read my mind (or this thread) so I got a far to good deal on a AX88 - no I for sure do not need a AX88 - however this was one of the "to good to turn down" offers.

Asus RT-AX88 vs Asus RT-AC86+switch? And if AC86, which Switch? I got an Asus RT-AX88!

Well in this case the suggestion is to use my AC88 as switch combined with a AC86. That will for sure consume alot more power than AC86+switch, or my current AC88+switch. I guess that something like Dlink DGS-1005G switch could be powered from one if the USB ports...?

Asus RT-AX88 vs Asus RT-AC86+switch? And if AC86, which Switch? I got an Asus RT-AX88!

In my mind that would be to go in the wrong direction regarding electric power usage. I would rather just get a switch to my AC88, it is for sure a lot cheaper.
