    Whitelist countries?

So what do you think you are doing now instead? I'd say basic firewall is close EVERYTHING and then open. Your solution is way more bad.

    Whitelist countries?

So we have things like blacklist countries - what about the opposite? I would love to be able to say which countries are allowed = whitelist instead of blacklist. Would make this so much easier....

AB-Solution - The Ad Blocking Solution

I guess a few awk commands? I understand what you are trying to say, however your solutions is wonderful as it is, and I could always write the script myself (it's not that hard) - is there any way to reload blacklist from outside, say with a parameter to ab_solution.sh?

AB-Solution - The Ad Blocking Solution

I have an idea - however if I am wrong in any way I write, please feel free to correct med :-) Above I read that wild cards are not possible in host names. And I can understand why since it is a host name based solution. What I need is something like: *.cloudfront.net *.tnctrx.com Both above...

[Release] AB-Solution 3 - The Ad Blocking Solution

Mmm well it is not possible to Well internet worked, just not the pings you did - so I had to move it outside current firewall. The DNS ping fails, and stops the script...

[Release] AB-Solution 3 - The Ad Blocking Solution

I tried to install a new AC88 router inside my network which already has a AC88 router with AdBlock. This failed, with a reference to Layer-3 DNS requests, and then the script tried to use 8.8.8.8 as DNS - now I understand that you try something here - but why do you request this kind of access...

    AC88 connected to AC88 - OpenVPN - both ways?

So I have got another Asus AC88 router, for my parents. Both now run exactly the same firmware (_64), and AdBlock 3. However my parents have dynamic IP, and I have static. So My thought was to setup a connection from there AC88 to my AC88 over OpenVPN (client on my parents AC88, server on my...

What would it take to do DPI?

So I have this dream (yea right....) to somehow have DPI (Deep Packet Inspection) running in my router to be able to do some minor modifications to URLs that are sent (SSL). Now I do admit, I don't know enough, rather I know just to little about what I am now asking, however I can not learn...

[Release] AB-Solution 3 - The Ad Blocking Solution

Would it be possible to, somehow, include some sort of code for removing links embedded in links? Like the "Clean Links" plugin to Firefox? Example: On the swedish web site blocket.se, there is nearly always an embedded link within a link, so I might see...

[Release] AB-Solution 3 - The Ad Blocking Solution

I don't know what I am doing wrong here, so if someone could help me out that would be great: 1) www.di.se - it uses some ad's, of course, and they are javascript triggered from when you enter the site 2) When I use my ANDROID mobile (Samsung Note 4) from my HOME WIFI, AdBlock works just great...

OpenVPN in RMerlin, to only connect to Internet?

Well I give up then. You are so totally wrong in this subject. But there is no way I will ever be able to convince you about why to use VPN back home, and NOT gain access to the inside. And since it seems impossible to do in Asus routers, I see no other way than pfsense or sophos. Over and Out!

OpenVPN in RMerlin, to only connect to Internet?

I see that you still don't understand why och what I am trying to do - that is fine, however you should investigate in why I am trying this before cutting my feet off.

OpenVPN in RMerlin, to only connect to Internet?

I am happy you enjoyed it... However there are reasons to doing what I am doing already.... The quest is to limit access to internal network.

OpenVPN in RMerlin, to only connect to Internet?

I would like to be able to connect over VPN from outside with my mobile or PC, to my Asus AC88 router, with RMerlin firmware and AdBlock and som more stuff. Now the thing is I would like to limit the connection to ONLY be VPN "home" and use the AdBlock over VPN - BUT NO ACCESS to the internal...

pfSense/Sophos vs ASUSWRT/RMerlin - Is there any reason to change?

I'm a bit of a nerd so I thought I might test the 8 core Intel C2758 series Rangeley based board. Any comments on this one: http://www.supermicro.com/products/motherboard/atom/x10/a1sri-2758f.cfm Yea it is most likly way to many cores and all that, but will it do?
