[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Nice. I had just hit 70 days and would've kept going but due to a horribly labeled circuit breaker box and having to install a Nest Hello had to power it off and on.

    AC68P Slow Wifi Issues

Probably not the solution you're looking for, but I experienced the same thing with our RT-AC68R. Always felt the WiFi performance was poor, especially the 5GHz even though we're in a small condo. Changing firmware and settings made little to no difference. Finally got a RT-AC86U for improved...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I was referring to the LayoutNG bug in Chrome where the text layout gets all screwed up. I've had no problem flashing firmware, and only needed the Restoration Tool to get back to John's Fork from Merlin.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

IIRC you have to put the router in Recovery Mode when using the ASUS Firmware Restoration Tool to flash from Merlin to John's Fork. Hold the Reset Button while powering on and wait until the Power LED flashes slowly. Give it a minute though before using the Tool otherwise you'll get an error.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

For anyone interested, the LayoutNG bug in Chrome doesn't affect the main Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13_0 firmware.

How bad are the AC86U 2.4Ghz issues?

Just got my RMA today. New sealed 2019 unit and Made in Vietnam, whereas the one I sent in was 2018 and Made in China.

    Front panel lights

Just happened to notice on my RT-AC68R that was purchased new in May 2016 and run 24/7 ever since that all the LEDs are kind of dim except for the one for LAN Port 3, which is noticeably brighter. I only recently (past couple of weeks) plugged something back into it after it being unused since...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Just checked if there was a Chrome update - Version 77.0.3865.75 - same problem. Took a screenshot and reported it. Let's see how quickly (if at all) Google fixes it.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Thanks. No I didn't download it. Hmm then something else must be the cause. It's probably one of those things that'll just fix itself one day. Don't think it's worth the effort chasing.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Oh wow I didn't know that. So Edge must've received the same update. As long as it's a browser issue and not firmware I'm okay with it.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Sounds like Chrome updated during all the firmware flashing I did last night. Why Edge is doing the same though is beyond me. Perhaps Windows update related, or graphics driver?

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I did that. I went from the latest stock Asuswrt to Fork so had to use the FW Restoration Tool. I restored settings to default, did WPS NVRAM clear, flashed firmware again but through GUI and repeated the above. It may need to be flashed with the FW Restoration Tool again. Might try it once the...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Agree it's not the firmware update. I've been running it for a while now too and it was fine until 7 days ago when I flashed the main Merlin firmware. Everything was still fine. Then this morning I flashed the stock Asuswrt and then immediately John's Fork. Now the text is all screwed up. Maybe...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Thanks for your reply. I did the same thing, tried Edge and same issue. I didn't try IE, that might be working fine. But this didn't happen before, and I've always been using Chrome. I think switching between firmwares caused the issue. Flashing stock Asuswrt then going from there might be the...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Is anyone having an issue with the GUI where text on the various setup tabs is overlapping, different sizes, and even partially covered e.g. Administration page tabs? I went from the latest Asuswrt-Merlin to the latest Fork. Had to use the Firmware Restoration Tool. Was running the Fork for...

    RT-AC86U WPS Clear NVRAM

So that didn't take long. Set the thing up last night after doing a "nuclear" reset and this morning all devices on 2.4GHz were disconnected. Took me longer to realize what was happening, then I got that sick feeling. Just shipped it off today (Asus provided the label upon asking twice). Hoping...

How bad are the AC86U 2.4Ghz issues?

Just RMA'd mine today. Set it up early in the morning around midnight, seemed like everything was fine. Tried to print something and the printer was offline, and all other devices on 2.4GHz were disconnected. The LED on the router was on, but it wasn't broadcasting the SSID at all. Everything...

    RT-AC86U WPS Clear NVRAM

Yes that's what mine does. I do the WPS thing but have to turn it off and back on to get the setup wizard. That's why I asked if others behave differently, because I can't follow the Nuclear method exactly, have to modify it a bit. Thanks for your advice. Hopefully it'll run just fine. My fear...

    RT-AC86U WPS Clear NVRAM

Man that's so frustrating. Kinda puts a damper on the whole thing, especially for an OCD person like myself. Prefer the RT-AC68R in this regard. So you're saying the NVRAM is being cleared even though it's not restarting on its own? That doesn't feel right, I like it when it all works smoothly...

    Trouble Setting Up iptables

Just following up in case anyone else was having a similar issue. I left everything the same as stated in my original post, except for iptables I deleted the top half and left only the following: iptables -I FORWARD -i tun11 -p udp -d destIP --dport Port -j ACCEPT iptables -I FORWARD -i tun11...
