    ASUS RT-AC66U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.378.4850 - 7.04.15 (Beta)

Looks like Asus is starting to move some older devices' firmware to 378. Does this mean such routers will be easier for Merlin to integrate in its current builds and will have better compatibility? Link...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.52 is available

If you want to know when updates are coming, follow the commits on GIThub. A new version takes a few weeks between the first time Merlin starts working on it and the final release. Since there are no commits since 5 April, I would not expect any new release before early/mid May. Again, just...

Is it possible to block a client from playing league of legend?

Can I not simply leave the port range empty and just put the destination IP/subnet? Sent using Tapatalk

Is it possible to block a client from playing league of legend?

I just looked at the router's real time connection log while my son was playing and found he was not connected to the 104.16.21.33 IP range but to 185.40.64.65 which belongs to 185.40.64.0/22 (Riot Games). I'm in Europe, so maybe there are different servers/IP ranges depending on the location...

    Serious Bugs for the AC66U

Which NAT? NAT acceleration or NAT loopback? Outgoing NAT is always enabled, otherwise my router would not differentiate the internal clients and keep track of their traffic NAT acceleration is just using another chip than the CPU, so there should be no impact here either NAT loopback is...

    Serious Bugs for the AC66U

I've had my AC66U for about a year, moved to Merlin in May of last year and installed all Merlin builds ever since and it's always been rock solid. I don't use WiFi (disabled both radios), NAT acceleration or NAT loopback but I have a few firewall rules (which don't work) and quite a lot of...

    WAN MAC address random changes

My ISP also uses the same method to assign "fixed DHCP address" and I never had any issues with any of the Merlin builds. I'm also using an AC66U and Merlin 51 with stock MAC address (no MAC address substitution) Sent using Tapatalk

    OpenSSL update coming this Friday

http://www.zdnet.com/article/high-severity-flaw-in-openssl-to-be-patched/ Side question: why is the firmware not using the latest OpenSSL version (1.0.2)? Sent using Tapatalk

    Any reason to upgrade ?

If you don't know what NAT loopback is for, then you probably don't need it and can simply chose the "Disable" option I personally don't need NAT loopback and that's what I did on my AC66U You can have a look at this post from RMerlin

    Any reason to upgrade ?

It is usually good practice to regularly update the firmware as new versions usually fix bugs and security issues. In some cases, new versions also bring new features, which you may or may not want to use, so you can always chose not to enable them. Your version is ~6 months old and there's...

    Asuswrt-Merlin 378.50 is out

I also hesitated and since I read about some issues from some other users, I didn't take a chance and did as follows (this afternoon): 1- Unplugged all Ethernet cables and my USB key 2- Pressed Reset button for about 20 sec while router was still on (and running 49_5) 3- When it completed its...
