SIX months since Merlin included updated Asus GPL - what's cooking at Asus ???

Think everyone needs their latest GPL fix. Jokes aside. We are all impatient. We all want a new GPL release. It’s not ideal but it is what it is. ASUS havent been the most transparent then, but I fully expected that. It will release when it releases, no amount of arguing and questioning will...

SIX months since Merlin included updated Asus GPL - what's cooking at Asus ???

As a “noobie”. What exactly is the GPL and how does it affect us/Rmerlin? Is it the core firmware of the Asus routers that brings new features etc?

blog_key corruption when adding / deleting flowfor net_p

Strange, I cant make heads or tail of the logs, but i would suggest to reset the router to stock ASUS firmware, unplug any ethernet devices so nothing is into the LAN ports, give it a few days and see how you get on.

blog_key corruption when adding / deleting flowfor net_p

Interesting, see my findings here, the reboots are very very annoying: http://www.snbforums.com/threads/connection-dropped-ac86u-rebooting.73949/post-716627

    Connection Dropped - AC86U Rebooting

Finally, to put this to bed. This has finally been traced to a client device/cable. I have a few Ethernet Switches across the house, the one in the bedroom connects to a Marantz MCR-611 with Cat6 cable. This is causing the following errors constantly: Oct 3 18:51:15 kernel: ^[[0;33;41mBLOG...

blog_key corruption when adding / deleting flowfor net_p

Mine are completely random, once they start the don't stop, even after a reboot. I can have hundreds per minute or sometimes a couple per minute. Been about 2-3 months now and no fix as of yet. I am sure these are linked to my Router rebooting.

    Connection Dropped - AC86U Rebooting

Reset NVRAM, reset and Initialised settings and setup the M&M config and formatted the JFFS, left the USB out entirely, and had a crash within 20 minutes, really scratching my head with this as its literally factory settings and a router that is less than 2 weeks old

    Connection Dropped - AC86U Rebooting

Thanks @RMerlin. I've just bought a new 32GB USB from Amazon so will try that. Will set the new USB up and see how I get on and report back. Thanks. There was also one or two with <4>CPU: 1 PID: 208 Comm: bcmsw_rx Tainted:

    Connection Dropped - AC86U Rebooting

UPDATE: New router, manufactured in 2021. Did numerous NVRAM reset, M&M Config, reformatted the USB, updated to 386.3_2 and was fine for around 10-11 days without issue then it started dropping out/reooting, the router is just over a week old, running the following scripts: - Diversion - Skynet...

    Connection Dropped - AC86U Rebooting

I spoke to Asus who said it sounded like a hardware defect and I should go to the retailer I got it off, which was......Amazon. I went on the live chat and within 4 minutes was offered a full refund or replacement item, I went for the full refund option and I ordered a new AX-86U instead (turn...

uiScribe Finding Crash Log with Scribe?

Just trying to find he cause of the router reboots, and the crash log may help. I do have a /opt/var/log/messages but I am unable to open/view or copy it as it seems I don't have the correct permissions?

uiScribe Finding Crash Log with Scribe?

Hi, My router is crashing, and after days spent trying to diagnose, I am at a loss, what I thought were crash logs, were just system logs.... however I am unable to find the crash log. I have Scribe installed but on the system log it says: Log file will display here. If you are seeing this...

386.3_2 ... Not sure what this Kernel error means

I had this and believed it to be causing my WAN to drop out for 2 or 3 minutes a couple of times a day (the router would restart). I nuked the router, and set it up again, not had the error since and also had no reboots of the router or WAN drop outs

    Router temperatures

I know, but figured i'd risk it for a day for testing purposes. I am back on 386_3_2 now anyway

    Router temperatures

AC86U, use to be on around 72C - 76C in a room with ambient temp of around 23C. Bought a 5V 140mm Noctua fan (Yes I know far too big) but temps are now lower than 45C on the CPU. Fan is too big really, and its a little noisy if sat by it, but for me it's a non issue, just need to clean it once...

    Connection Dropped - AC86U Rebooting

It gave way again. I nuked the router again, setup M&M and within 15 minutes, 6 Apple devices and Ring started throwing the errors up, WAN and LAN light went off, the internet light went red before all going white again after 2 minutes or so. https://pastebin.com/NSa2nvHx Not sure if these...
