AC68U fell off the AiMesh node from AC86U router..2nd time

I reserved base on the MAC (ping the AiMesh node in command prompt then do arp -a , it should return MAC for that AiMesh node) and because that was what I saw in the log when the AiMesh node renewed its IP via DHCP. It's been a while since mine were upgraded to 384.18 and the AC68U still...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.18 and 384.13_10 is now available

Did the update require manufacture/default reset and reconfigure manually to match all settings/configuration? New Firmware is good thing but going through manual reconfiguration, settings are just hassles (I know it must be done, but since mine are stable on 384.17,,,not really sure should...

Firmware update necessary or only to fix existing issues?

I am running super stable "knocking on woods" at 384.17 on AC86U (main router AiMesh) and AC68U (AiMesh node). Both are popping up "Updates available" ... Question is it an necessity for update rather than staying back with existing 384.17? Personally, I don't see any necessity to do the...

Not only QNAP,,,I saw it happened with FireTV USB Stick as well. FireTV USB obtained 1 IP and another portion of the USB stick obtained another IP for "something" shown as anonymous. I knew that when I blocked the Internet of the Anonymous and FireTV USB Stick can't talk to Internet :)... (it...

AC68U fell off the AiMesh node from AC86U router..2nd time

This should be resolved. It's been almost 3 days, no re-occurrence! I think the DHCP might have caused the on/off of the AiMesh Node plus the signal integrity, strength checkup as well! The logs be low showed that times to times, the AiMesh node being checked if the signal strength strong...

    AC86U router temperature

Yes, I kept watching the temp, it's averaging 65-75C ,, I guess you use pull configuration so the external fan will pull the heat out from the back of the AC86U?

AC68U fell off the AiMesh node from AC86U router..2nd time

It's been using 5Ghz as backhaul but I do not use band steering ,,,by having each 2.4 & 5Ghz its own SSID, I am easily controlling. ...plus AC68U doesn't support Smart Connect! Maybe I get another AC86U and then follow you suggestion later :) So far, I created DHCP reservation for AC68U AiMesh...
