AiMesh problem switching back and forth between nodes

RT-AC86u main router 10007 firmware RT-AC1900p 20287 firmware as AiMesh node Playing a game on my Android 7 tablet in my den, about halfway between main and node. Sitting in one place. Tablet keeps switching back and forth between main and node. Getting kicked out of game or losing...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Somewhat, but I bought a new RT-AC86u because of AiMesh. I'm sure others have too. So to say we didn't pay for it isn't 100% correct. I do agree with the stability comments though. I knew it was new and could have issues. I do expect it to function better soon though. I do know the...

    RT-AC86U .20287?

Sorry. 1900p. Basically the same as RT-AC68. It has the 10007 firmware and works with AiMesh

    RT-AC86U Wan/Lan Speed problem

Yeah.Sorry..I updated in another thread about the RT-AC86U. I was really frustrated at first. I even cloned the MAC from my RT-AC1600P onto my RT-AC86U so they got the same IP address from Comcast/Xfinity. RT-AC86U was always slower. Every time I tried with the devices Reset to factory...

    RT-AC86U .20287?

I removed my RT-AC1900P with newer firmware. Reset it. Tried to add it back to my RT-AC86u. Failed a few times, but after the 3rd or 4th time, I got it working. From the RT-AC-86u you can see the firmware version of the main and the nodes. If you try logging into the node, it brings you...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

Turning off AIMesh fixed this. I tried the scenario multiple times with AiMesh turned off and didn't have the issue. Added AiMesh RT-AC1900p back to the RT-AC86U and started happening again. I didn't see anything unusual in the syslog but here is the chain of events. Also, this only seems to...

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

The above is still happening to me with the node firmware updated to 20287. Its really strange. It seems to cause the AIMesh to fail when this is happening (Aimesh does reconnect eventually). I'm going to try turning off AiMesh and see if that fixes it. If that fails, then I'll try going...

    RT-AC86U .20287?

Is this firmware available somewhere for the 86? Or coming soon? I updated my node but my main is still in the older version.

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

My network: RT-AC86U main, RT-AC1900p node AiMesh ethernet. I think this is a known issue: After about 8 days the Node connectivity went offline as reported by the main web config page. Rebooted the main and it came back. Another weird issue that may or may not be related to the RT-AC86U...

AiMesh use with (or instead of) Ethernet?

I went from 2 routers like you with different SSIDs and different channels, to AiMesh. Signal and switching between is better than without AiMesh, but there is still some disconnect.

    Wtfst on 384.10007 and RT-AC86U

That wasn't happening with mine. I tried adding a few games. The list was never blank. Have you tried a different browser. I've had problems with Asus UI sometimes with Firefox. Maybe a reset or initialize?

[Official Release] AiMesh Firmware v3.0.0.4.384.10007 for All Supported Products

With AiMesh, I noticed that my router and node are using the same 2.4 and 5ghz channels. I'm using Smart Connect also. Is it normal for them to pick the same channels? Or maybe it's just random because of the wifi signals in my area?

2 routers with wired network between, aimesh or regular?

Just to follow up on this. I got an Rt-AC86u as my main router with smart connect enabled. Moved my RT-AC1600p to the same place as my AC1200 Netgear. Setup AiMesh over Ethernet. Signal level is much better throughout the house and outside. Also no need to use Wifi manager on my Android...

ASUS RT-AC86U Dual Band AC2900 Wireless Router Reviewed

ok...This is weird... Fully configuring everything and now my speed on the 86u is at 950Mbs. Maybe I just needed to let the thing settle. Strange. Wish I could figure out what I did to increase the speed. I'm not sure I want to mess with it..but things I changed...DHCP reservations, IPV6...

ASUS RT-AC86U Dual Band AC2900 Wireless Router Reviewed

Here are my 2 speed tests this morning. I cloned the 1900p mac to the 86u so they would get the same Comcast IP address. The 86u will go up to about 650, but not as high as the 1900p. I also did an initialize and only had 1 client connected, (set wifi to something with no one connected)...

ASUS RT-AC86U Dual Band AC2900 Wireless Router Reviewed

Yeah. I found it hard to believe. I thought it must be some setting. So I reset them both back to factory. I disconnected everything except for my single PC. I also tried Mac cloning through 86u, just in case Comcast was doing something funky because it was assigned a different...

ASUS RT-AC86U Dual Band AC2900 Wireless Router Reviewed

I posted this in another thread, but so far I'm disappointed in the RT-AC86U. I'm getting slower Wan/Lan download speeds from the internet compared with my older RT-AC1900P. Not sure if there is some magic setting I need to use. RT-AC86U 550Mbps/42Mbps RT-AC1900P 950Mbps/42Mbps Both with...

    RT-AC86U Wan/Lan Speed problem

Just to make sure it isn't because I'm getting assigned a different IP address, I tried cloning my PCs MAC. Same problem... RT-AC86U 550Mbps/42Mbps RT-AC1900P 950Mbps/42Mbps BTW.. used DSL Reports Speedtest and Xfinity.
