    YazFi YazFi v4.x

Good point. Using the terminal it does return the proper response ("No updates available - latest is v4.3.4"). According to the bossman above it's a fork-related issue. I was aware I'm on the latest as I just installed it last week as part of my pi-hole setup, just kicking the tires and...

    YazFi YazFi v4.x

I tried a search but didn't find this in the thread. When I try to check for an update under the YazFi add-on GUI on the router, I get a spinning circle and no response. I've turned off the ad-blocker, so I don't think that's the issue. Here's a screenshot: Any thoughts?

    YazFi YazFi v4.x

No, not a major upgrade, no reset required. Just moving up from john's last LTS release to the latest LTS release, v51E3. EDIT: Tried it, everything looks like it's working. YazFi remained active on the one guest network I had it configured for pre-flash.

    YazFi YazFi v4.x

Can someone comment on the procedure when upgrading the router firmware, in regards to Yazfi? Does anything need to be run/re-installed?

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 51E3

Quick question re: add-ons. I recently installed the YazFi addon which allows customization of the guest wifi networks. When I upgrade this LTS firmware by flashing over, do I need to do anything special with that add-on's install?

    Upgrading from AC68U to AX68U

Thanks for posting this. I had the exact same question and will consider the AX86U, though will hold off for now.

Any benefit to using a separate router for IOT network segmentation/isolation vs. using a guest wifi on my main router?

Appreciate the commentary. I happen to have another of my same RT-AC68U sitting around unused, running john's LTS build, so was considering this as a "why not?." But if the router is perfectly capable of transmitting these multiple VLANs to dozens of IOT devices without performance issues...

Any benefit to using a separate router for IOT network segmentation/isolation vs. using a guest wifi on my main router?

For the purpose of network isolation for my IOT devices, my current practice is to have a guest wifi on my Asus router set specifically for this. These devices have access to the internet but no access to each other or other elements of the LAN. The same router also puts out wifi networks for...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I tried punching in "wl0.1" (no quotes). I'll try again. EDIT: Ahh, I had to hit the "add" button, THEN apply. Thanks both of you! Now to research which queuing discipline is optimal...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Hi, Sorry to pull this message forward from years ago, but my search didn't reveal any newer posts regarding this. Specifically, this is regarding establishing QOS on a guest wifi. I'm on the last legacy build, 39L3, but I believe this feature was implemented earlier than that build. I...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Figured it out. Private Internet Access (PIA) extension was blocking a lot of things, even though it wasn't 'activated' or running its VPN. A new 'feature' for v2.1 that no one asked for or needed. Annoying!

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Good idea. I've now tried it with both. If I just use plain "192.168.1.1" it is http only and get the error. Unfortunately HTTPS does not help. I get a NET::ERR_CERT_AUTHORITY_INVALID error and Chrome warns me about proceeding. And I still get the repeat login prompts.

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I too thought it might be extension related, so I definitely took a good look at what was enabled. Incognito mode does disable some extensions. But it's not ublock origin, nor lastpass. Not sure what else would cause this effect. Chrome cache wipe doesn't fix anything either. Dirty-flashed...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Recently I've been having issues when logging into the router with having repeated user/password requests. I thought it was when I updated to 39L3, so I reverted to 38L4. However, the problem still persists. This happens only with Chrome. Firefox does not have this issue. Essentially, I...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

When the two upgrade paths were introduced, there were a few posts (I think one from @john9527 himself) about trying it without a reset, without major issues. I might do that myself eventually!

Ah, I see. I agree wholeheartedly!

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

I disagree with this. Changing CFE is important in specific situations. Not all of course. Specifically, in the T-Mobile branded AC68U (AC-1900), it is required to change to an Asus CFE to convert it to a full-fledged AC68U. And to allow the T-Mobile firmware to flash older firmwares and...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Hi John, Perhaps I'm not reading your upgrade matrix file correctly, but I don't see the specific rec procedure for someone on v28L who wants to go to v29E. I'm guessing it would be the same as the v26L to v28E+ line, which recommends the factory reset? Though I recall some folks posting here...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Now that the new SDK releases have been out for a while with the new wireless drivers, does anyone have any data (or subjective impressions) to share on how performance compares to the legacy versions?

Okay, did a full reboot and it's looking okay now.
