    ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 (Owners)

I'm debating to pick this router up or not. I've got about 16+ Devices on my wifi network. Any thoughts? Currently using an AC88U with a AC68U As a Repeater. The AC88U would goto the Repeater duty and the Rapture would be the new main router.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 is now available

Here's an issue I've noticed with the AC88U. Over time 2-4 weeks my internet speed will start to degrade and slow down and I will get micro freezing in games (happens in overwatch conan etc all games) Basically my router will just hiccup causing a massive ping spike and then go on as normal. If...

[Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374.43 LTS releases (Archive)

Regarding 20B5 I tried flashing it on my AC68R, and it would just not even start up. Power light would stay solid then after a min or two it would flash off and cycle over and over. 19E3 works fine. I had to use the asus recovery to flash 19E3 because the router was essentially bricked.

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.48 is out

With .48 I am getting insane lag spikes and disconnects randomly in games/programs. Look at the CPU Usage. I reverted to another build and the issue goes away. I also notice increased latency overall as well.

DHCP server issues with .48 beta 3 anyone?

Lol I guess this explains why my modem would randomly loose connection everyday at a certain time. I revered to .47 and it went away but LOL :)

    Asuswrt-Merlin 376.48 Beta 2 is out

Hey Merlin, Can you see if you can fix this issue? It's only present on ASUS routers and effects all kinds. Here's the issue. If your cable modem or whatever type IE A Motorola 6121 or whatever disconnects and or you reboot it. The Asus router will fail to detect the connection...

Share What You Know: ASUS RT-AC3200 News, Release Date, Price and Expectations

Agreed it's also much better for heat dissipation into air vs a solid surface and creating a hot plate effect and it also takes up less room!

My Experiance with the RT-AC87U And No It's not Good

Sadly no I had massive issues as well even trying to bridge ac68 to the 87u. The quantenna chip set has insane compatibility issues with other Broadcom chipsets.

My Experiance with the RT-AC87U And No It's not Good

I think the best thing to do is wait for the AC3200 From Asus and give that a shot. Right now my 2X 68R and 1X 66U are working without any issues. I'd like to see increased data rate however and I think the AC3200 will provide that in the manner letting the different routers link to...

My Experiance with the RT-AC87U And No It's not Good

I can tell you I'm 99% sure it's Hardware. 1) It happens on the Netgear AC7500 X4 Nighthawk (Quantenna Different software) 2) Happens on 87U Same exact issue different software Both routers use some kind of "Bridge" that translates between the broadcom side and the Quantenna side which...

My Experiance with the RT-AC87U And No It's not Good

OKay here's an Updated comparsion. The Netgear didn't have any of the UI issues that the ASUS had as far as setting sticking or what not. Setup was easier since it had none of the bs issues. But Here's something that I've discovered about the "Quantenna Chipset and it's Piece of shirt and...

My Experiance with the RT-AC87U And No It's not Good

I am now testing the Netgear Night Hawk X4 7500. And Just from my few min of using is so far it's a night and day difference between the Asus and this. I'll get into it more later.

My Experiance with the RT-AC87U And No It's not Good

Yeah a fully modular structure would def be a big plus that way you could interchange parts with different models depending on what feature sets are supported needed and each module would have it's own dependency and not interfere with another if something is broken and not ready? Bam don't...

My Experiance with the RT-AC87U And No It's not Good

You know what's pathetic about Asus? Merlin > Multi Billion Dollar Company. 1 Man on his spare time can do more fixes and updates than a company that has billions at it's disposal. Only thing to do is give Merlin props :)

My Experiance with the RT-AC87U And No It's not Good

They might have improved the internal design sure but where does the heat go when you have it resting on a desk? Um.. inside and your desk gets insanely hot then causes a hot plate effect. If they were both suspended in mid air okay but how is the positioning? If there's better internal heat...
