    BCM4916 process node?

The problem is brands market SoCs vs the main A53 variants.. It's skewed. IE BCM6755 quad vs A53 quad is a completely different metric in a BCM router. SoC pools its quad for both NPU and CPU purposes.

    BCM4916 process node?

The problem with those cheaper SoCs is that they pool resources. I think major brands suck at marketing. I would have abused Broadcoms "Penta core" marketing for modern stuff. WIFI 7 router with 7-8 cores!!! A53 Quad + 1 core for each 4x4 radio 🤣

    BCM4916 process node?

Monolithic Zen/+ was GloFlo. Zen 2-3 was GloFo I/O with TSMC CCD. Monolithic APU's in Zen2+ were only sourced out of TSMC Zen4+ is TSMC for I/O + CCD.

    BCM4916 process node?

6715 is 1.7ghz if I'm not mistaken.. Similar to gen 2 AX SoC's such as 6756. Gen 1 was 1.5ghz all around. Not sure about 6726.. could be same 1.7ghz or stronger. Broadcom doesn't really put this information out. It's been a thing since PENTA CORE on W2. 3x3/4x4 AC W2 radios were 800mhz...

    BCM4916 process node?

AX gen Broadcom seems to use a 1.5-1.7ghz A7 core integrated into the radio as a NPU, though they did end up releasing newer 3x3 and 2x2 designs which offload from the main A53. Newer BE 6765 SoC is pretty nice because they broke away from a pooled A7, though the radios are only 2x2. Assume...

Low UL throughput over WIFI on new fiber line.. Normal?

UL Issue happens a lot more often now on wired, but that GUI reset basically solves the day... Could be a compatibility issue with something at the OLT + settings.. but the crux of the issue is the AXON SmartNID unit. I assume a weaker 600mhz MIPS Calix design wouldn't share these issues...

    BCM4916 process node?

Fabless companies are also subject to set order wafer cost. It's sometimes more logical to go smaller if the yield is high. Depends on the overall logistics and design constraint. NVIDIA went 8nm Samsung for Ampere because TSMC wouldn't really budge on 7nm. 8nm SS is a crappy node, but it...

    BCM4916 process node?

It depends on design constraints for company. Broadcom reused AC W2 28nm CPUs up until the 2nd gen AX revision, where QCA went full in on Samsung 14nm FinFET in 2018 with the introduction of AX. It's not rocket science why certain brands stick to specific nodes.

    BCM4916 process node?

14nm Samsung and 16nm TSMC are a similar density. QCA HW has been on 14nm Samsung FinFET for a bit now (2018+) Broadcom sticks to cheaper nodes because they value pricing/yield, etc. I would assume TSMC finally offered them a deal to move up to 16nm. TSMC was trying to free up 28nm capacity a...

Windows HP laptop takes a long time to connect to Wi-Fi

Well we don't know what card OP has. I'd agree on software if his HP Spectre has an intel WIFI card. If its Mediatek... Well... it's just crap. :) I tossed a brand new MTK 6E card because it pissed me off to no end. Ping time, Connectivity time frame, and random throughput issues when...

Windows HP laptop takes a long time to connect to Wi-Fi

I mean it's a swappable part.. Basically like changing a NVMe SSD. Most warranties only last a year. $500 isn't much money in current economy.. but to each their own. I'm just making the argument incase it's a MediaTek unit. Absolutely the worse experience I've had in modern HW. Intel...

Windows HP laptop takes a long time to connect to Wi-Fi

Modern Intel based stuff is usually going to be CNVi integration but can also be PCI-E if manufacturer chooses so. AMD CPU's will use a standard PCI-E interface. Unless it's a proprietary design which was made in conjunction with a major WIFI manufacturer (Nothing comes to mind via x86 CPU)...

Windows HP laptop takes a long time to connect to Wi-Fi

Swap WIFI card? I recently acquired a Mediatek 6E card and its complete garbage next to an intel AX200/210. Very slow resume and has throughput accelerations issues on 5G band.

Low UL throughput over WIFI on new fiber line.. Normal?

Imtalkintou said that he doesn't believe there's an OLT end side config issue, but firmware (5500XK) with a specific GPON deployment card does make sense to me... Especially since it fixes itself with the GUI "stats" reset at the click of a button.... I have to agree. I have no local congestion...

Low UL throughput over WIFI on new fiber line.. Normal?

I thought about this and it does make sense considering the issues with the 6500XK. The 5500XK supports 8 different GPON deployment cards: Source: https://www.axon-networks.com/products/gpon-ont I'll just assume it's bugged with the specific OLT being used. There's 6 Calix options. Prob...

    AX68 to AX86

AX86 models have more cores. The AX68 fully piggybacks off the main dual core A53 processor. AX86's main 4x4 radio has its own A7 NPU. @ 1.5-1.7ghz depending on if you buy a Pro/Non pro variant. 1+4+0 config for U variants. 1+2+0 for S AX86S. Only real benefit is that the main 5G radio will...

Low UL throughput over WIFI on new fiber line.. Normal?

I don't doubt that it could be a local topology issue or faulty setting. I just know that CPU sided performance is influencing throughput.. 5500XK Unit is offloading UL... Which makes me question if this is intentional or just a bug. You can even see this happening over wired where it will...

Low UL throughput over WIFI on new fiber line.. Normal?

I was hoping I could at least try an indoor Calix unit here, but they're saving whatever they have left for legacy replacements and phone line connectivity. It's possible that theres a hardware conflict with the specific Calix build they're running here as to why it glitches out, but it...

Low UL throughput over WIFI on new fiber line.. Normal?

I've been sending info to Imtakintou. He's forwarding my info to a labs team. Not sure if anything will come out of it. Also not sure if this is intentional or a bug considering acceleration works "pre router" then bottlenecks shortly after. Modern PCs can obviously handle offloading, but I...

Low UL throughput over WIFI on new fiber line.. Normal?

Final Update 2 (lol): I think I have it figured out for anyone else who has a problem with LUMEN/Quantum fiber in the future. Its just an acceleration issue on UL end from ONT. (Seems to offload to other side of RJ-45.) I pulled out legacy router hardware with slower CPUs and the capability...
