    AC-87u support

There was a bug about a year ago that would drain battery on Android phones when connected to the 5GHz band, however that was already addressed a long time ago. Regarding the powersaving mode, not showing the option doesn't mean the feature is not implemented, it is just not available to Turn...

5GHz not visible after 380.66 update on RT-AC3200

I just had similar issues with my AC87 and Nexus 6P running the Android O Dev 2... As was told before, some devices have issues connecting to the higher channels on the 5G band at 40/80MHz bandwidth. Could only connect to 20Mhz bandwidth which "only" gives 170Mbps link! Change your 5G bands...

    AC87U WiFi 5G channel issue

Fixed it with a Factory reset! Was trying to avoid it, however as it is fixed now that's alright... TBH this may be the first time a reset really fixed something for me! :) Zirescu, that's what I am using now as well! I have installed the Android O Dev 2 on my Nexus 6P and seems like this...

    AC87U WiFi 5G channel issue

Anyone else having issues with selection of lower channels like 36 on the 5G band? After applying settings it just changes to higher channels like 112... I have found that my devices works much better with lower channels on the 5G however no matter which channel I select it just ignores it...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Thanks FreshJR, you've made an awesome script! Started using it today and QoS is now perfect on my side... With the original adaptive QoS I used to have buffering issues with my IPTV service when downloading torrents, I have already tried to download some torrents and no buffering until now! :)

    Hard Drive Or Nas Suggestion

Since you are looking for futureproofing, for that price range a FreeNAS may be something to consider!

[Test build] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.65 alpha builds

Not sure if is 380.65 issue, but after a few days the QoS Statistics are reset! Is anyone else having same behaviour?

    [Preview] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.64 test builds

Where is the option located btw? Saw it once somewhere, unable to find it now...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.63 Beta is now available

Is HTTPS auth also working for you? I made a factory reset and haven't changed back to HTTPS...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.63 Beta is now available

Same GUI issue here! Can't change to HTTP auth and can't downgrade it to the alpha build anymore! I tried visortgw method, but after uploading the alpha build, the beta is still there...

    [alpha] Asuswrt-Merlin 380.62 preview builds

Merlin, have you reverted the change to allow disconnection of clients with RSSI lower than -70dBm? I don't change the values for quite some time and although I had already values of -60 applied on an older firmware, I can't change to anything below -70 on latest alpha!

    ASUS RT-AC87U 5Ghz connection issues

The battery drain bug was fixed on latest QTN drivers released a few weeks ago!

[Alpha] Preview builds for Asuswrt-Merlin 380.60

With just a few hours running the alpha, so far so good. On the AC87, it looks like the Broadcom wireless drivers were updated, any major difference?

    Renaming client names

No, factory defaults will be indeed factory defaults, otherwise would defeat its purpose!
  15. MarioCaires

    Renaming client names

The renamed clients in the network map are supposed to survive an upgrade, even for clients that doesn't support custom hostnames such as most dongles, cast devices and TV's! So answering OP's question, if upgrading, you will still retain the renamed client names on network map!

    Asuswrt-Merlin 380.59 is now available

It still doesn't report any flags other than Associated and Authenticated, however doesn't mean Powersave is not working... As far as I can say, with 24 hours test, it seems the drain is finally gone! :) Will keep updating on this matter... As a matter of fact, everything on the 5GHz seems much...

When the New Firmware for AC87U

I don't know if the OP was asking Eric directly, but obviously the release of a new firmware is not up to him! Asus didn't release any new firmware (even beta) or GPL for the AC87 for a long time... Basically, with the release of new routers, the AC87 is not priority anymore! The OP, such as...
