Convert two ac68u AP to AiMesh, and now both use same channel?

Thank you guys! But I still confused on why they use same channel, this sounds a bad design to me since same channle could make signal worse.. one ac68u in "Access Point(AP) mode / AiMesh Router in AP mode" and another on in "AiMesh Node", both connected to the same router by wire.

Convert two ac68u AP to AiMesh, and now both use same channel?

I convert two ac68u AP Mode to the AiMesh(Ethernet Backhaul Mode), it's really a pain since i have to hard reset one ac68u to get work, but it's good in the end. One thing i noticed is that, both ac68u now using exact same channel for both 2.4 and 5. I thought this is a very bad practice...

    Release ASUS RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.49703 (07-20-2022)

after upgrade to this version, i am unable to access Web UI anymore. How to fix it? SSH still working. EDIT: Looks like manually run `service restart_httpd` should be able to get Web UI up and running, but it can't start it on its own after reboot. tried many times.

    Release RT-AC68U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.386.43129

Is 386 stable enough to upgrade from 385? I heart a lot of bad story on the 386.

AC68U V2, Faster CPU doesn't improve wifi performance?

Actually, for my test run, the result on the multiple runs for the same router is about the same. Since I did it during midnight(less interfere), with only one client connected, exact same location.

AC68U V2, Faster CPU doesn't improve wifi performance?

I don't think so, because the cpu usage is around 60-80% under traffic. and then dropped to zero when traffic is gone.

AC68U V2, Faster CPU doesn't improve wifi performance?

I have two AC68U, one is converted TM-AC1900 with 800M CPU, the other one is V2 with 1.4G CPU, all same factory firmware. I put both router in AP mode, and noticed that there is not much difference in the wifi performance, the V2 is even slower in upload speed by ~100Mbps. Has anyone else...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0

Regarding "backhaul optimization mechanism", Is that means I am able to put two AC68U AP mode, which are connecting to the same router via copper cable, and using same SSID and expending wifi coverage automatically?

What the best practice for setup two APs?

Thanks, that's what I read, wired APs need different SSIDs for best coverage. AiMesh AP can do the roaming but need a AiMesh master node.
