    RT-AX92U 3.0.0.4.384_9177-gbe0ac36 , possible slower internet connection

Keep posting my finding... I used a small fan directly cooling the main router, when the cpu temperature dropped to around 96 I can see CPU1 is activated from the log. Eventually the cpu temperature is now stabilized at around 62. (from 108!!!) Though there are 2 cpu cores running now (I can...

    RT-AX92U 3.0.0.4.384_9177-gbe0ac36 , possible slower internet connection

Maybe it seems worth to start a new thread discussing the router thermal connection. In the web UI status I can see there is only one CPU core, and with some google I found that the router suppose to have 2 CPU cores and 1 core is stopped due to overheating. I then find that every time the...

    RT-AX92U 3.0.0.4.384_9177-gbe0ac36 , possible slower internet connection

interim conclusion: so speedtest with 100% cpu load lead to overheat.. after rebooting router return to normal (waited 5 min with low cpu load the router still stick in low frequency mode) when there is no overheating, with web history on it is about 600-650 mbps. with web history off it is...

The speed keep degrading even the web history has been turned off. After 30 min the speed test degraded to around 400mbps (!!!). With a reboot the performance resumed but I wonder how long it can last for...

    RT-AX92U 3.0.0.4.384_9177-gbe0ac36 , possible slower internet connection

It seems to be the web history log. I don't recall this impact the performance in old firmware but in the new firmware, turning it off improve the downstream to around 800mbps. I will leave this as off at this moment.

    RT-AX92U 3.0.0.4.384_9177-gbe0ac36 , possible slower internet connection

Just updated my 2x RT-AX92U and found that the internet downstream seems to run slower. I have a 1Gb internet link and the downstream, tested by using a wired PC through speedtest.net with local server, degraded to around 600-700 mbps. I recalled that around 2-3 months ago I was able to...

2x RT-AX92U AiMesh, node unable to upgrade firmware

Agree.. AiMesh is like a beta software... Trouble setting up(node adding issue), many features not avl as node (schedule reboot, even manual reboot not avl in web ui except mobile app, client list not showing details for nodes' clients). All these missing features had not been improved since...

2x RT-AX92U AiMesh, node unable to upgrade firmware

Issue solved! Thanks! The node updated without issue by using manual upload. And just as a node, I am using a hard-wired pc to operate the process. Not sure what's the different between pressing the auto-update in web-ui (not working for node) and manually upload (worked!).

[SOLVED] Help! Cannot connect AC68U to my AC86U as aimesh node

I come across this post and share my experience... I did hit similar AiMesh node adding issue, and tried a lot of works. I think the process is super buggy and fix is only by chance. In my exp, I did not change anything, keep retrying 5 times and the last time it worked... But I am now very...

2x RT-AX92U AiMesh, node unable to upgrade firmware

hm... I am thinking to hard reset my node, update the firmware, then add it back to the AiMesh.. but seems risky given I see so many ppl complaining on node adding process (seems Asus did not fix it from 2018 till 2020)..

2x RT-AX92U AiMesh, node unable to upgrade firmware

Thanks for your suggestion. Tried to power down each of them before, but not both. I will try this again. The firmware seems to be too new that I can't find it listed on the Asus webpage, that's why I can't try the manual upload method. (however from previous bad exp, the firmware upload...

2x RT-AX92U AiMesh, node unable to upgrade firmware

I am running two RT-AX92U on AiMesh setting with official Asus firmware (3.0.0.4.384_8697-g4c0773e). Today I noticed that there is an update (3.0.0.4.384_9177-gbe0ac36) so I perform the update in the web interface. The page said update completed and after I login again, could see the main unit...

    AUG 2013 - ASUS RT-N56U Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.374.130

It worked, thanks! The 2.4G signal is much better in old firmware, the new one created a dead spot in my room, while the old one has no dead spot! However the 5Gz signal seems to be weaker, thought I not use 5Gz much due to its short distance...
