    Thank you very much. got it to work and correctly show wired. Incidentally, how are we supposed to update the mesh node routers then if we cannot access them? Do I have to plug my laptop directly into the mesh node router?

It seems to be working fine other then even when forcing the connection priority to Ethernet, it still shows connection type as wireless, so don't know if Ethernet back haul is enabled?     Just need clarification. I have a 3100 as my main router and my current 66u as my AP in my loft. My wan port is not used on the 66u of course, and I have a Ethernet cable running from the lan port into the lan port on my 3100 I'm confused when I read on Aimesh setup for setting up mesh APnodes...
