    Unreliable 5Ghz wifi with AC87R

I updated the router before going to sleep last night and everything seemed good. When I woke up this morning, my Macbook was unable to connect to the 5Ghz network. All my other devices were able to connect fine. I rebooted the router and the Macbook was then able to connect. This is very odd.

    Unreliable 5Ghz wifi with AC87R

Thanks. I'll give it a try. I'll reset the router again as well, just in case.

    Unreliable 5Ghz wifi with AC87R

Beamforming is already disabled. My Macbook Pro is my primary system and that's where I tend to see the issue first. When the wireless drops, that's when I check on my other devices and see that they have the same problem. I'm using 40MHz because I don't have any AC devices and 80MHz...

    Unreliable 5Ghz wifi with AC87R

I recently picked up a AC87R to replace a N66U. The range on this router is terrific and has allowed me to remove a second access point I had in the house. Unfortunately, I'm having issues with the 5Ghz network. It works well for a while and then it simply stops working. Sometimes you can...

VPN clients can't access network resources

Ugh ... I feel like an idiot. I didn't realize the default IP range was 192.168.10.X for the VPN. I'll blame lack of sleep for that silliness. Thanks.

VPN clients can't access network resources

I just picked up a Asus RT-N66U today and so far it's working a lot better than my previous Netgear WNDR4500. I'm having issues with the VPN though and hope someone hear might have some ideas what's going on. I've configured the VPN on the router, enabling NAT pass-through for everything...

How much control does the Asus N66U provide for QoS?

I currently have a Netgear WNDR4500 and am having nothing but problems with it. I'm considering replacing it with a Asus N66U and was wondering how much control it provides for QoS configuration. - Is it strictly a low/medium/high priority setting like on the Netgear routers or can I...

Odd performance issue with Netgear WNDR4500 router

I'm having an odd problem and was wondering if anyone else has seen this type of behavior with a WNDR4500 router. I have a NAS and media streamer (Sonos) each wired in to the router. My laptop connects wirelessly. If my laptop is downloading from the internet at any speed above 60Mbps, the...
