    Is Anyone Using MU-MIMO?

Good Idea, yet this is not the case. Two tests: a. Leave the phone in another room - no sound notification b. Leave the home and go to another location ( a store, park, etc) and the phone notification rings while on the person. I have not found any option that would offer the ability...

    Is Anyone Using MU-MIMO?

Hello, Since I have the new Asus zenwifi 6 router it is MU-MIMO compliant ( as the AP comes std. with the purchase). I have been working with the features of the unit for a day or two. Now that said I also have the Pixel 3a cell phone , an 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with 2×2 MIMO. The phone has been...

Asus ZenWifi 6 (AX) Router Security Question

Just a note ( as this is not an issue), I did pursue my approach called out in post # 3 above and it did not 'stick'. Logging out then back in, the cell I entered for password remained empty. Not an issue, but thought to let you know. Tried several times and just called it a day. thanks!

Asus ZenWifi 6 (AX) Router Security Question

Folks, being new to ASUS ( Coming from Netgear ) can someone address this question for me? When I initially setup the system I gave a unique name and password to access the router itself ( for mgmt). Yet when I am setting up the parameters for AiProtection ( from Trend Micro) it suggest...

[Maylyn - Networking] ASUS ZenWiFi XT8

Took delivery on the AX8 on Thursday (Feb 7) and have been running on the unit for 3 days: 1. Easy-pezzy setup 2. Great performance ( I have ~ 15 node network) 3. Great speed ; I use 1 XPS 13 Dell notebook with Killer wifi AX1650w card and it responds quite nicely in the mesh network. 4. I...

    RT-AX88U Router + ZenWifi XT8 Nodes?

Amazon shows availability Feb 4th for the unit in White (meh) and Feb 8th for black... yet there is a $100 premium for black. ( poor marketing choice on their end... I will wait it out until the price = the while unit)

ASUS ZenWiFi AX WiFi 6 System (XT8)

FYI, this https://www.asus.com/Product-Compare/?products=lz1oss59xzvantj2,a6tzftj4apcx33bh&b=0 gives a reasonable compare ( and contrast) between Zenwifi AX8 vs. CT8 ( or said differently Asus ' 802.11 AX vs. 802.11 AC ; TPlink does a nice job of comparing the two technologies...

ASUS ZenWiFi AX WiFi 6 System (XT8)

Hello Folks, I am not ( as yet) an ASUS router user ... I am presently on Netgrear stuff and making the switch to the new system . I am waiting for Amazon to have the units in black ( I am a slave to fashion!). That said, for those experienced ASUS users here , will I be able to accomplish...

[Maylyn - Networking] ASUS ZenWiFi XT8

I myself prefer wireless backhaul just due to my home configuration and ease of placement ( of the node). And yes, I think ( as you call out) CPU and memory seem a bit ~ entry level~. I would have liked to see 2.2 GHz 64-Bit Quad-Core CPU and 2 GB or DDR Ram ... Yet that said, I am NOT a...

    Amplifi Alien

thank you, very helpful. I have read all of your previous posts and recall the 10,000 sq.ft. - even if it is 1/2 of that it will be impressive ( to say the least). So, let me ask your opinion. Out of the box do you think it will equal the performance of a AC3200 Netgear router? My goal...

    Amplifi Alien

Hello Folks , I just ordered mine... then I read 'dongknows' and eeek! From my point of view (only) I would have thought that this ~ high end~ router would, without doubt , have a dedicated backhaul channel. It is making me think twice about keeping it. I am a Netgear user ( AC 3200...
