How can I identify a mystery device on my network?

Not sure why that doesn't work - I've used that in the past and it worked. Maybe you can instead change the wifi password and then update the clients one at a time? See if one of the updates brings back the mystery device. I once had an Amazon device use a secret mac address to try find it's way...

    Release ASUS RT-AX3000 AND RT-AX58U- Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_23925 (2023/09/27)

There is something flakey with the last two updates every since the ddns started reporting on the hour that the ip hasn't changed. Random claims of lost wan then a crash. It recovers most of the time on it's own but sometimes I have to turn the ddns off and back on manually to get it working...

Release ASUS RT-AX58U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_23924

In case anyone else has cert status issue, I fixed it by changing the radio button to "Auto", apply, then back to "Free Certificate from Let's Encrypt", and apply again.

Release ASUS RT-AX58U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388_23924

Two observations with the update. 1) I am getting a new hourly entry in the log file: ddns: IP address, server and hostname have not changed since the last update. I don't know if the update changed the log level or if this is new. 2) The Let Encrypt Server Certificate status is stuck at...

Odd Issue: Device Not Showing, but Working

I still have guest wireless #2 turned on with a hidden ssid. I did it long ago to fix a network map issue hiding some clients. Not sure why it worked back then when I did it, but it did.

What Satellite MAC to use for fixed IP address

Interesting. I always thought that Mesh nodes acted just like clients with some enhancements. Thank you for the information!

What Satellite MAC to use for fixed IP address

Sorry, I'm being dense. In understand the station MAC changes, but why would the client IP address need to then change?

What Satellite MAC to use for fixed IP address

That's interesting. Why would the IP reservation not work if the band changes? My cell floats between bands and maintains the reserved IP address.

    SendMail not working

Once I installed screen, the following command will fork and run the script in the background which won't get killed off: screen -S iphere -dm sh -c "/mnt/opt/home/iphered.sh $IPNAME $IPTARGET > /mnt/opt/home/iphere.log" You can, of course, change the script name, args, and log location...

    SendMail not working

I am monitoring this thread. I had a similar issue and couldn't get mail to work in a background script either. Ended up solving it by using the screen app I installed from Entware.

    Release ASUS RT-AX3000 Firmware version 3.0.0.4.388.23403 (2023/05/31)

Can you check to see if this method creates any new mount points? Wondering, for example, if this asusware.arm directory on the flash drive becomes a mount. If not, are these files in the lower folders getting copied to the tmp folder? Thank you!

Help with IPSEC connection in ASUS RT-AX3000

I'm sorry, I'm out of ideas. I use IKE v2 so I can't compare my logs with yours to see where they may diverge.

Sorry, I'm just shooting in the dark: I don't see any users listed in your config.

Try authentication with just psk and no xauth?

Help with IPSEC connection in ASUS RT-AX3000

Sounds like more an issue with your VPN device than a router issue. What settings have you tried (e.g. IKE version, Authentication Method, etc.)?

Is there a way to assign different local IP ranges based on connection type (wireless/wired) [GT-AX6000]

Not sure about your model but with most stock firmware, Guest Wireless 1 is put on it's own ip range in separate vlans: one for 2.4GHz, one for 5GHz.
