ASUS RT AX58U - ASUS MERLIN SOFTWARE INSTALLATION UNSUCCESSFUL

    I have a V1. I assume a V2 would be shown here?

Philips Hue: lights off when nobody is home [script]

It's not that. I thought you were looking at matching MACs only on the wireless client tables. Clients on my AP would show up as wired clients. Did I get that wrong?

Philips Hue: lights off when nobody is home [script]

I guess it is a trade off between taxing the router processor vs. extra network traffic. I have lots of extra network bandwidth but not much extra processing with my router. Also, my clients can connect via an AP by way of a powerline segment so I'm not sure your method would work. Nice work...

Philips Hue: lights off when nobody is home [script]

Correct. As I stated, /bin/bash will not work with the script.

Philips Hue: lights off when nobody is home [script]

You may have a path problem to your entware version of bash. On my router /bin/bash is symlink'ed to busybox which won't work for this script. You can fix this by changing the first line of the script to point to your bash. You can locate the location with find / -name bash then change the...

Philips Hue: lights off when nobody is home [script]

    I recently scripted up a presence detector. Is there a reason you didn't use ping? ping -q -c1 -w1 $IPTARGET > /dev/null target=$?

    Wake on WAN

Thank you. That's what I understood until this thread threw me off! Hopefully our back and forth will help others as I am not having the issue that OP is reporting.

    Wake on WAN

This is exactly what I do from the Android Termux app. I run this script; #!/bin/sh ssh admin@192.168.1.1 ether-wake -i br0 XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX I did find that my computer's wireless adapter has ARP offloading and GTK rekeying capabilties during sleep. That may be why I don't need the...

Repeater connected to Guest SSID bypassing Access Intranet = Disable

I wonder if the repeater is somehow getting the main router non-guest wifi psk during setup? Can you run this command on the repeater command line: nvram show | grep psk

    Wake on WAN

Another option to try maybe is to do it from the command line: ether-wake -i br0 XX:XX:XX:XX:XX

    Wake on WAN

Interestingly my RT-AX58U is not having this problem on 388.2. Days after hibernation my computer is still in the ARP table and still reacts to WOL. Maybe the difference is that it is on WiFi?

    Save/Restore IPSEC VPN Server Settings?

Since I am using IKEV2 I am guessing there needs to be more than the PSK to configure back. Looks like maybe just the /etc/ipsec.conf file and /etc/ipsec.d directory? Edit: scratch that, that's the tmp folder. Maybe the /jffs/ca_files directory? Yes - no response so I assumed no one else is...

    Save/Restore IPSEC VPN Server Settings?

I need to do a factory reset on my RT-AX58U with Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.388_22525 to see if I can fix the AiProtection email notifications. I am currently using the IPSEC VPN Server and would like to avoid having to redeploy new client certs. Is this possible? If so, can anyone tell me...

    Ai Protection Google Email

I know this is technically in the wrong section (have an RT-AX58U with stock firmware 3.0.0.4.388_22525), but I am have the exact same issue. I recently turned Ai Protection back on because I was persuaded by conversations here it had more benefit than harm (okay, it was @Tech9). I figured if...

Solved Odd Request - Anyone know MS Powershell and how to convert to curl?

I wonder if this would reboot your gateway if you entered it into your browser: http://admin:password@192.168.12.1/TMI/v1/gateway/reset?set=reboot

    Domain-based VPN Routing Script

The script appears to use the following commands to identify the WAN interface names: nvram get wan0_gw_ifname nvram get wan1_gw_ifname

Clearing out SSH rules from router

So the "WAN - Virtual Server / Port Forwarding" in the GUI doesn't work for your needs?

Issue with Setting up Policy Routing with VPN Client

Silly question: did you hit the plus symbol before apply?

Strange problem with Zen Wifi ET12 when cable modem restars (also present with AX88U)

Have you tried changing the "Enable WAN down browser redirect notice" setting on the Admin - System page?

    AX88U wan getting local ip

If not already, try DHCPS-fixed mode. Choose the MAC address of the ASUS router.
