Prevent a loop caused by connecting to AX86U wireguard server?

I remember the days when forum members would post what they've figured out in hopes of helping someone in the future who may have a similar issue, rather than just asking for help and not making contributions. Though moot in this case since nobody VPNs to their LAN from their LAN.

How to asign node only to boost signal not for clients?

You can have one SSID with your current setup, and still have a "faux" dedicated backaul. You can't do this with aimesh but that doesn't matter (in reality you might actually be able to mix aimesh with repeaters but that would be a real pain for little to no benefit). Patio device running in...

    Ethernet Flow Control

You want flow control, it is a good thing. I know you're troubleshooting that issue but I don't think this is where you want to go with that.

RT-AX56U - Define LAN port to the guest network?

If your plex server is behind router 2 and you need inbound traffic to it, you need port forwarding configured on both routers. Router 1 to router 2 WAN, and router 2 to plex. Whether the plex server will "like" that double NAT I don't know, but usually not a problem. You also have the option...

Prevent a loop caused by connecting to AX86U wireguard server?

Guess not so appreciated after all 😄 . Maybe someone needs to lower their ideals when seeking free advice, especially when all they do is ignore the suggestions of others and wait for some impossible exact answer they're looking for.

SOLVED: very asymmetric UL/DL speed on 2.5G line

Out of curiosity try enabling QOS and set your upload to something like 500M. That would tell you if some sort of saturation or bottleneck is occurring, if you can get 500M when it is limited but only 100M when not. Also do not use the built in router speed test, that is not reliable. However...

Are there specific industries or types of businesses that are particularly well-suited for WiFi 6 adoption?

It isn't a relevant question, like I said the main benefit is simply replacing end of life gear that may not be getting security updates anymore. 5 years ago the answer would have been increased capacity and range. Now it's just "that's all that is available". Wifi6 is on its way to being...

Prevent a loop caused by connecting to AX86U wireguard server?

I guess they assume people wouldn't be connecting from the inside of their network to the outside of their network in order to connect back to the inside of their network. With 0.0.0.0/0 specified you are not excluding your LAN subnet and that's going to create a loop (even if you did exclude...

    The never ending story...

All these articles that call out a specific vendor or product, its like, yeah, that's the one for today, tomorrow it will be another, and another, etc. This is why true security experts, consultants, etc will tell you the key is not trying to patch and protect every device/endpoint, but...

    Windows 12 Subscription? What the...

I see it more as paying my penance for my younger years and all the cracks and keygens I used 😄 $20 or so a year is pretty light punishment. I mean it is still possible to bypass and crack pretty much everything but every few months they fix it, you need to find a new one, it just became not...

    Windows 12 Subscription? What the...

Actually been a problem with Apple for quite a while now, a school will upgrade their iPADs, macbooks, etc, let the students and/or teachers take them home, only to find out they're locked down and the IT guy with the password to release them from Apple's management is long gone. Friend of mine...

Problem with Intercept NTP client requests

The concern the author expresses is not with overloading public NTP but that somehow it will result in inaccuracy since you can't ensure they will all use the same server. That assumes that NTP is completely broken, or that the NTP provider you're using is incompetent. The protocol takes into...

Prevent a loop caused by connecting to AX86U wireguard server?

As far as I know you should not be attempting to connect to the VPN server from inside your network, that will cause a loop like you say (and it won't actually encrypt anything out to the internet, only back to your LAN, which is pointless). You need to configure a VPN client on the router for...

Problem with Intercept NTP client requests

You have the port open if it is functioning... whether it queries the Asus or a server beyond that, basically the same thing from the Hex's perspective, port 123 outbound. You can still use the hex as a proxy if you want but then using the Asus as a second proxy doesn't make any sense.

Problem with Intercept NTP client requests

I disagree, when accuracy is at stake you want to have as few hops as necessary. Pool.ntp.org has dozens of servers and an NTP query is tiny. I would not trust the asus to have the necessary accuracy for true NTP anyway (depending on the accuracy you need anyway).

How to asign node only to boost signal not for clients?

There is no such thing as a wifi signal booster. There are APs and clients (and a repeater which is both in the same unit). Clients can connect to an AP unless you block them. So you can whitelist the nursery repeater device only in your patio repeater which will stop anything else from...

Problem with Intercept NTP client requests

I'd have pretty big concerns with any device that can't manage to use an accurate NTP server... You can set windows to use what you want but I've never had any issues with the default MS one either. But the poster I was replying to was specifically pointing his device at the router, so not...

Problem with Intercept NTP client requests

Why do you need your devices to use the router for NTP? Just let them all hit pool.ntp.org and be done with it. If anything the NTP proxy is resulting in worse accuracy, or worst case the same accuracy as going direct.

Router will change the WIFI network for the connected machines according to distance from the router

Not for two separate SSIDs. If you use the same SSID, then smart connect will do what you're looking for. On the phone, you can try tweaking the settings, in Android under developer options there is a "wifi scan throttling" that you can disable, not sure if Apple has something similar. May or...

Are there specific industries or types of businesses that are particularly well-suited for WiFi 6 adoption?

Tell your professor to stop using 10 year old questions and at least update to 6e or 7. Most corporations or industries are already on 6 if nothing else just due to EOL on wifi 5 hardware.
