Typical router behaviour with Cable ISP?

Can we assume that you have a cable modem/router from your ISP else it probably wouldn't have a bridge mode - and if so can we assume it's a proper bridge mode, labelled up as such? I guess knowing the make/model wouldn't help either. Moving on constant, at the very least low intensity activity...

    Open NAT game profiles

It seems the perpetual license is tied to the router, not the account. This is problematic since it means diving into the router menus if you need to change games. Also the Windows client if you do go that way seems to do more harm than good to any other connections on a local machine...

    Open NAT game profiles

On the GT-AX6000 under Game Profile there is still a "+ Add" button above the oddly implemented list of games. If you are using Wtfast though it now seems that the perpetual 1 free device that came with some is no longer honoured (even if you registered when it was, and before their policy...

I cannot setup Wireguard on my AX6000

While agreeing with @degrub the first step should be to set up DDNS on the router. As for the DNS, it's pointing at the router, so if your router already looks up via Google, then that's where your VPN clients will look for their DNS once the router cache has been checked!

My RT-AC86U reset to factory settings by itself on a reboot

From memory, my RT-AC86u reset itself on one occasion. But by that time it seemed to be struggling with client numbers and just seemed to need a little too much attention to keep the (slightly complex) connection to the heating thermostats up. *No matter the brand, why is it always the heating...

    Router shutdown script

Common theme in many of my posts - I'm a bit lazy and so will try to use the quickest/easiest way to do a thing! For absolute peace of mind, I'd probably be stopping the services and then using the GUI to eject the media - as the router could still be writing to it thanks to other processes...

    Router shutdown script

Sure, we're not over thinking this? You can unmount the drives using the GUI and then remove them if necessary, or even at that point just turn the router off!

    AX68U rebooting randomly

Okay, so I've not got the time to do too much of a deep dive but: The events posted do not appear to be a router "reboot", and one of the "misbehaving" devices appears to be "Mathias-Iphone", not the router or one of it's satellites. *I'm so very prepared to be wrong here, so apologies in advance!

    XT8 DFS causing game desync?

If you have DFS off, then your router will not be able to use the channels that can be affected by radar. If DFS is on then you can only use those channels when radar is not detected. Your router is not going to be switching backwards and forwards between DFS and non-DFS channels, so it's...

Why is the ethernet speed on my phone faster than my laptop when they are plugged into the same network with the same cable?

Maybe referring to the cable entering the home. The fastest Wi-Fi device on internet speed-tests is still the Poco F3 phone. The laptop with the slowest speed-tests (it's just slower, not slow) is about 10% slower than the others, but I tend to put that down to the ruggedised design probably...

    Wifi 7 pointless

So if using windows what does the WiFi Status page show your connection speed as.

    Wifi 7 pointless

So what tests have you done so far? Have you identified any bottlenecks, and what is the connection speed that the card is reporting if you dive into its settings and diagnostics?

    Asus AX86U poor WAN speeds

*Virgin Gigabit is capable of upto 1,130Mbps in the UK! They have their own network and don't rely on OpenReach.

I have an old Brother HL-2300D, and an Asus AX86U. How do I achieve AirPrint?

The OPs printer is USB only, and I made the hats off comment because I always had the impression they were unreliable. I'm pretty sure I've set more than one of these up on Netgear routers using ReadyShare - and it wasn't that difficult, but it's probably a decade-ish ago!

I have an old Brother HL-2300D, and an Asus AX86U. How do I achieve AirPrint?

I assumed there were MAC users due to the reference to AirPrint, which means you should try to use the LPR protocol. Note my own experience with this was patchy!

I have an old Brother HL-2300D, and an Asus AX86U. How do I achieve AirPrint?

As it's a USB only printer, https://www.asus.com/uk/support/faq/114046/ may be more pertinent! *And hats off to you for keeping that printer working for so many years!

Is a used mini pc a good option for a NAS?

So which are you after, a home server or a NAS? These mini-PCs can be great for projects, but you need to get one that comes as complete as possible for your needs. I'd be far happier getting a mini-PC as a home server that I can play around with than I would be as my first Home NAS that I may...

    What's a good NON-Asus router to replace a GT-AX6000?

@Matthew12345 I've been actively trying to recreate the issues that a couple of members on here have reported, and so far have failed miserably. My own GT-AX6000 is rock solid and has been since a few days after the model was launched.

    Remote connection with CG-NAT

@mrcross it's all to do with NAT (Network Address Translation). Your devices can start a conversation with devices outside of your NAT realm. Still, without some additional help, new conversations can't be initiated from outside the NAT realm your devices exist within. When using an additional...

Should connecting to routers be this difficult ? GT-AX6000 set as AP & ISP router (unwanted redirect).

@Jaizen I kind of feel that we're tying ourselves up in knots here! I think I'd start from scratch here. That would mean disconnecting the GT-AX6000 from any other equipment and then following the reset procedure here: https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1039078/ If you now connect to the router...
