Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

Tried that, tried almost every normal setting for stabilising 2.4Ghz. 802.11ax = disable Wifi Agile Multiband = disable Target Wake Time = disable Protected Management Frames = disable Universal Beamforming = disable It was working fine this morning using stock firmware on the RT-AX88U and...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

I've spent the last few hours trying to get my Ring Floodlight Cameras to connect to my RT-AX88U and mesh. They are 2.4Ghz and even if I persuade them to connect they are very slow. Other 2.4Ghz devices "seem" to be OK but nothing else generates any amount of traffic. I'm resorting to making a...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

Only from the logging - it's set to Debug by default so you are getting everything. I've changed the Log only messages more urgent than setting to notice much quieter now

RT-AX56U No DFS Channels? (US Model)

I have UK (EU) RT-AX56Us and as you suggest I can select DFS channels, although I don't have as many channels available as my UK RT-AX88U does. It might be worth raising it with Asus using the Feedback page in the router GUI.

    Release New AX88U Firmware v3.0.0.4.386.41700

Thanks, at the moment I think I'm OK to wait as I usually have Trend Micro AiProtection activated. However if I get desperate to get Cake back up and running I will reach out to you. This GPL is still running very well for me.

    Release New AX88U Firmware v3.0.0.4.386.41700

I've temporarily moved from Merlin to Stock as the 386_41535 GPL builds were problematic for me. So far this release has been very good on my network. I'll be returning to Merlin once his Beta 5 has been released based on 41700, but that's only because I used so of his extra features.

    Release New AX88U Firmware v3.0.0.4.386.41700

Whilst I haven't seen anything specified, it's usually a good idea anyway. If the predecessor is the now withdrawn 386_4129, any of the betas Asus issued or a version starting 384_xxxx I would strongly advise that you do reset to defaults after the upgrade. This puts back all of the factory...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0 (continued)

That's concerning - I've been eagerly awaiting a new update as mine are doing all sorts of strange things with WiFi

    Release New AX88U Firmware v3.0.0.4.386.41700

I reverted to stock 41700 yesterday due to issues with GPL 41535 on Merlin. It's working great (although I miss Merlin features) however I'm now having terrible WIFI issues with my AX56U accepting connections but then the devices can't actually access the internet. I hope there will soon be a...

    Release New AX88U Firmware v3.0.0.4.386.41700

Thanks, I am having a serious degradation of my wireless using an AX88U with 2 x AX56U nodes running the latest Merlin beta which is based on 386_41535. Wireless is screwed and changing settings is not improving things so am seriously thinking of upgrading to this version when I do a full...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

We don't usually get as far as a Beta 5, but then again this is a major update and still not stable on stock either. Looking forward to it landing when it's ready

    Release New AX88U Firmware v3.0.0.4.386.41700

I think this is an issue with the latest beta build that was issued. I had to download the Rescue Tool and reflash my firmware that way when I wanted to get back to Merlin.

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0 (continued)

It feels like Asus has problems at the moment with the AX firmware. They recently pulled the released 386 version for RT-AX88U and there are a number of other models missing AiMesh 2.0 releases still. Add to that the problems reported on here with poor throughput etc. My guess is that they are...

Beta ASUSWRT 386 RC2 public beta with full functions AiMesh 2.0 (continued)

AiMesh moves you (steers your device) between nodes to get the best signal Smart Connect moves you (steers your device) between the bands on a node depending on the rules defined - this is to give the optimum connection on 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz Roaming Assistant is probably the sledgehammer to crack a...

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

You've chosen to run beta test firmware - you should be aware that this carries risks and if you are concerned it would be advisable to regress to a stable released version with known characteristics.

Solved RT-AX56U as a mesh client and Ethernet bridge

Yes, I run a pair of RT-AX56Us as nodes with my RT-AX88U. I'm using Ethernet backhaul. Recent firmware versions seem to be pretty good on this model as a mesh node.

Beta Asuswrt-Merlin 386.1 Beta (stage 2) is now available

I've not looked at my temperatures so I'm blissfully unaware. What I can say is that my AX88U with AX56U nodes are running very well after 24 hours on Beta 4(b). Many thanks.
