    Diversion Diversion performance questions

No that's not what I said, I only turn on ublock when I watch youtube cause diversion can handle website ads. I don't know of other browsers but in edge you can set ublock to be on or off on sites you choose.

    Diversion Diversion performance questions

Diversion works just fine for all network clients there's no need for individual browser blocker, for me actually there's one site I need ublock and that is when watching youtube.:D

    DDNS(Inadyn)

Not a problem at all I'm just curious why DDNS suddenly checks every hour when IPv6 was added in the mix. When I had IPv4 only I have never seen DDNS update not unless it's the 21st day or when the router was rebooted. If this is how it will be with dual stack, then I'm happy it's working as...

    DDNS(Inadyn)

Since my ISP enabled IPV6 a week ago, DDNS updates every hour. Does it means my IPv6 address changes every hour cause my ipv4 IP doesn't? Is this how ddns should work? Sep 19 18:09:27 rc_service: dhcp6c 19430:notify_rc restart_ddns Sep 19 18:09:27 custom_script: Running...

Solved Intercepting NTP traffic Philips Hue Hub

Yes, it gets time from WAN NTP servers to keep its time as precise to serve for LAN clients time. NTPMerlin from @Jack Yaz does this too.

Solved Intercepting NTP traffic Philips Hue Hub

That's what it says, local ntp server and that's what it does, it serves time to the local network. If it wasn't enabled, the router only gets its time for himself from an outside NTP server.

Solved Intercepting NTP traffic Philips Hue Hub

You will know if the NTP intercepts are working when you see UDP 123 requests from your philips hue IP's to your router's address in syslog\connections, no need to over analyze it.

I see, now that makes sense.

That's what I think it was just trying to confirm. Why would you want to do that?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.8 is now available for specific models

Isn't port forwarding mechanism forwards inbound ports to allow in? In this case, by not allowing specific clients's connection to the internet, the direction are outbound, why is it so?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.8 is now available for specific models

No. Update: Found it! Two iot clients that I blocked internet access created those entries but to understand, do they make sense?

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.8 is now available for specific models

What would create these port forwarding entries even if port forwarding is disabled? Notice these entries since 386.8 firmware update of RT-AX88U.

[Bug] GT-AX6000 - swappiness=0 causing issues when swap is needed

Yes, definitely the swapping mechanism works at least for RT-AX88U and most likely to all models. The blocking list is about 22 MB in size more or less of which there's about 1 million domains to block, updates are scheduled twice a week.

[Bug] GT-AX6000 - swappiness=0 causing issues when swap is needed

That's correct the snapshots were taken after some pages were freed and I believe it did reach 97% when swapping happened. In fact, today this morning, there were more freed RAM space as now it's at 81% from 95% possibly because it needeed more space to accommodate Diversion's Large blocking...

[Bug] GT-AX6000 - swappiness=0 causing issues when swap is needed

Here's an actual swapping first moment from my network to illustrate how it works @ swappiness=60. Didn't know what triggers it @95% as it reaches the threshold. Other add ons that can be added that uses the swap files that I know of are Unbound and Skynet. Note: Network is stable up to...

Are Asus routers running ASUSWRT-Merlin affected by NAT Slipstreaming? Mitigations?

At least in the US, wifi calling uses IPSEC passthrough.

[Bug] GT-AX6000 - swappiness=0 causing issues when swap is needed

Just for reference my RT-Ax88u's swappiness value in 386.8 is ASUSWRT-Merlin RT-AX88U 386.8_0 Sat Aug 13 20:54:16 UTC 2022 xxxxx@RT-AX88U/tmp/home/root# cat /proc/sys/vm/swappiness 60 It uses the swap file when the memory is @ 95-97% capacity of 1G.
