    What's a good NON-Asus router to replace a GT-AX6000?

Not had any issues with mine, but it appears that Asus in general is having some issues with random routers. I had a RT-AX68U which was not behaving at all, took it to a service centre and was given a new one. It seems like either Asus has gotten a batch of bad flash chips, or they've done...

    WAVLINK Intel be200

Are you using Windows 11? If not, you won't be able to get it fully functional. There's no WiFi 7 support in Windows 10.

    What's a good NON-Asus router to replace a GT-AX6000?

This is the most similar device feature wise, but it's using MTK rather than Broadcom hardware. https://www.gl-inet.com/products/gl-mt6000/

CPU Core 1 Spiking 100% GT-AX6000 other cores seems no utilized. Merlin 388.1

Well, I guess that's the thing that's being confused all the time with the current GT-AX6000, despite never having launched.

CPU Core 1 Spiking 100% GT-AX6000 other cores seems no utilized. Merlin 388.1

Actually, that was the device that was meant to launch as the GT-AX6000, see: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/gt-ax6000-manufacturing-year.91733/post-924994

    GT-AX6000 power supply

When it comes to power products, at least if you live in the US, check the UL listing for one. Also try to buy from known brands, not some random company out of Shenzhen or Guangdong or whatever. Ideally from a non xinese brand/manufacturer, even if the thing is likely to be made there.

Tomato64 - x86-64 port of the Tomato Firmware Distribution

Used to, no? I believe Asus has stripped out most of that code by now. That said, all routers have some base firmware that they're built on. MTK has their own SDK/firmware that is all in-house and at least used to be quite easy to "skin". Qualcomm seems to have their own custom version of...

    GT-AX6000 power supply

Ok, you go ahead and confuse people some more then. That's really going to make everyone's life easier.
  9. TheLostSwede

    GT-AX6000 power supply

No, because someone is going to order a 12 V 1 A power supply from some unheard of xinese company and it'll not end well. And why do we have to discuss this? Can we just suggest that people use a power adapter with the same spec, instead of suggesting a bunch of solutions that are just going to...

    GT-AX6000 power supply

Until someone decides to use their router as a NAS with a bus powered 2.5-inch drive and the shirtty 3rd part power adapter from aliexpress no longer provides enough power...

    GT-AX6000 power supply

Why are you complicating things for people? If we stick to simple rules, people aren't going to have issues with their hardware. Complicate things and you're going to get a million follow up questions and people are guaranteed to have issues.

    GT-AX6000 power supply

That's only possible if the device has a wide range power input, that doesn't mean all devices will work like that. which is why I was very specific. At least a lower Voltage is unlikely to do damage, unlike a too high Voltage.
  13. TheLostSwede

    GT-AX6000 power supply

It should work. Voltage matter, as long as the power adapter can deliver at least as high current. Higher Voltage = things blow up, lower Voltage = things don't power on. The only time current is an issue, is if the device needs more than the power adapter can deliver.

Buying a 10GB Pcie Ethernet Card

No, as this is what keeps happening here every time someone asks a specific question, in comes someone like you with unsolicited advice. And you still haven't answered my question.

Buying a 10GB Pcie Ethernet Card

The OP was asking why he should or shouldn't buy the Asus card in question, a question you clearly couldn't answer, so you provided unsolicited advice instead. You clearly either are biased, or must've come across issues with Aquantia/Marvell products, or you wouldn't claim that only Intel...

Buying a 10GB Pcie Ethernet Card

No idea what motherboard you have, but that long slot, appears to be a x4 slot electrically, so the card should work in there. Also, there's nothing really wrong with the TP-Link cards, I actually bought a pair of those that were heavily discounted myself, to have as a backup, since my cards...

Buying a 10GB Pcie Ethernet Card

Sorry, but can you show us what the issues with the Aquantia cards are? I've been running mine since 2017 without any issues whatsoever, apart from a Ryzen platform compatibility issue when the platform was brand new and the Aquantia engineers released a firmware update within a couple of weeks...

Buying a 10GB Pcie Ethernet Card

So you clearly have no idea what you're buying to start with then, just that it says Asus on the heatsink... The card in questions has an Aquantia, AQC107 network chip on it. Aquantia was acquired by Marvell a few years ago. As such, being able to install driver and firmware updates from the...

    Gt-AX6000 manufacturing year

I believe the seller was confused, as there was supposed to be a version with Qualcomm hardware that afaik never entered the market. It was also said to have 10 Gbps ports and eight Gigabit ports. There are some pics on the FCC.
