    a switch is cheap and will last many years . I have read many posts where the ports on tha router are not reliable

    you are lucky to get 5 to 10 years of updated FW after that there are other 3rd party FW fresh Tomato using reasonable precautions you should be safe

    disconnect the USB before doing a FW upgrade might help avoid the prolem

    sorry but the chips in your phone identify you no matter how you sandbox whatever , my cars are 18 years old and 50 years old and have no cell phone , not defeatist just don;t care because I keep my life as Flintstone as can be

    who cares about what little data trend and Asus collect , you probably use a cell phone that collects every move every sound you make , why worry about what little trend and asus collect . your car probably collects more data about your life .

    Thanks I/m not to clear on these dfs channels in Kanukistan I'll look it up and play with dif chennels see if I get a delay . Thanks you were right had a 1 minute delay using channel 130 , never to old to learn something new

    Is this model specific ? I use channel 149 and have never noticed a delay connecting

    What firmware to run on new RT-AX86U_PRO?

    use whatever works for you , I use Merlin because it updates security patches much quicker than Asus stock FW plus I like the simple GUI and it does not break the terms of warranty

    it is getting very confusing with all the new models, and the pricing is not always an indicator of performance quality . Had a friend buy the AXE7800 had him return it and buy another model . Good luck

    when I have weird problems like that a reboot/ reset usually fixes the problems . when was the last time you did a clean install or reset after upgrading the FW ?
