    RT-AC68U / RT-AC68P / RT-AC1900 / RT-AC1900P

Did you follow my suggestion to setup the Media Bridge with fixed IP settings? The screen shorts are from my actual setup with a RT-AC68U as main router and the RT-AC1900U as Media Bridge, with the link on 5 GHz. After reboot of the router, my media bridge does reconnect it self. The link rate...

    RT-AC68U / RT-AC68P / RT-AC1900 / RT-AC1900P

The version E1 shall perform slightly better than the A1 better due to a little faster CPU. Both can be loaded with exact the same firmware versions (as long as you don't try an ancient version). My strong suggestion is to set the Media Bridge to fixed IP settings, like: Where 192.168.1.1 is...

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

A V3 version is indeed not listed in the table, for a simple reason I was not aware of a V3 version. I won't bother too much, they released the same router with different names, and version codes. The V4 was a major difference compared to the "Classic" model and the initial variants. Can you...

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

The source code (GPL) is on the firmware download page: Driver & Tools > Others Scroll down / Expand all and it is at the bottom.

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

I never received clear information of what hardware is in the V4. Maybe RMerlin is willing to open the bonnet.

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

The RT-AC66U is already since a while EOL. The RT-AC66U_B1 is NOT yet EOL.

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

Do you also doubt earth is not flat? Lack of the right chips can be a good reason to discontinue a product, or maybe the failure rate of this V4 was too high, who knows.

    RT-AC68U / RT-AC68P / RT-AC1900 / RT-AC1900P

About the RT-AC68U_V4 being set to EOL. The RT-AC68U "Classic", RT-AC1900U, RT-AC66U_B1 are NOT yet declared EOL.

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

I am right, please read this thread: https://www.snbforums.com/threads/rt-ac68u-rt-ac68p-rt-ac1900-rt-ac1900p.35759/post-291101 As said allready the RT-AC66U is a different thing than the RT-AC66U_B1, don't shoot the messenger, we have not named those products.

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

Incorrect, ASUS maintains separate pages for those models: https://www.asus.com/networking-iot-servers/wifi-routers/asus-wifi-routers/rt-ac66u-b1/helpdesk_bios/?model2Name=RT-AC66U-B1...

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

Not on the list means not EOL (not yet, maybe tomorrow). Same applies for the RT-AC1900U, which is the same thing as the RT-AC66U B1.

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

The EOL site clearly states what EOL means: When a product is end-of-life, it means: It is no longer manufactured Its certification will not be renewed Its firmware, utility, website, DM, QSG and manual will not be updated It may be replaced by a new product with updated hardware and similar...

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

Yes right, our home equipment and my business laptop is still at AC level, our iPhones do support AX and that's it. On top of that my ISP subscription is "only" 150 /150 (we scaled down from 600 / 600 and saved some cost), the Internet and Wi-Fi speed is sufficient for our use, including...

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

Ah well, even the RT-N66U was dropped after many years being the flagship and Linksys dropped the WRT54, the RT-AC68U will follow naturally and for sure. As more devices are now build with AX support, the market for AC is slowly dying.

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

The RT-AC68 is no longer listed as recommended replacement for any router, all suggested replacements are AX.

    RT-AC68U v4 Discontinued by Asus

It looks like they "only" list the RT-AC68U_V4 which was the very latest and quite special in the range.

Asus removed Release Date for everything.

Date is back for the RT-AC68U firmware too, but for the RT-AC1900U the site is Under Maintenance, someone is doing some new years repair duties ;)
