    Guest Networks Issue

No it's not. It's a computer running embedded Linux that COULD become a security risk.

    Guest Networks Issue

    I have a Belkin Wemo Mini and a TP-Link Kasa HS105

    Guest Networks Issue

I tested both with my phone and laptop. I'll do a complete reset and reconfigure on 384.14 and see if that fixes the issue. But it'll be a day or so before I can do that - too many football games on today. Thanks for the reply.

    Guest Networks Issue

I'm running 384.14 on a RT-AC68U. When I set the option "Access Intranet" on a Guest Network to Disable the devices connected to the Guest Network cannot access the WAN (I.E. Internet). Same behavior on both the 2.4 and 5 GHz networks. I thought that option would disable client-to-client...

[384.14_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

How will DoH work for people like me using a Raspberry Pi with Pihole and Unbound which functions as a fully recursive server and contacts top level domain servers directly? Does this mean Firefox will bypass my Pi's Unbound implementation?

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

*** UPDATE *** Now the exclamation mark has cleared automatically. I guess No-IP was having an issue on their end at the time I noticed this on my router. So, no problem now. *** I have an "official" RT-AC68U running 384.13. I did a dirty upgrade from .12 which was working without issues...

    Guest Networks and Wireless Log

Interesting ... this just happened to me yesterday. One of my Amazon devices all of a sudden started using the non-guest network again. So, went to my Amazon account and removed all cached wifi network passwords.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.12 is now available

Recently upgraded an RT-AC68U with 384.12 from 384.11_2. I had setup guest networks for both 2.4 and 5 GHz prior to upgrading. After the upgrade, my Smart Plugs (one is a Belkin wemo and the other is a TP-Link HS105) could no longer access the 2.4 GHz guest network. Disabling the guest...

    Guest Networks and Wireless Log

Thanks ... learned something new today. It was a PITA to reset the wireless settings in the Belkin wemo mini plug I'm using but finally got it to work and now it's showing the "G" flag.

    Guest Networks and Wireless Log

I'm running 384.11_2 on an RT-AC68U. I decided to enable both a 2.4 and 5 GHz wireless guest network and have my Amazon devices and Smart Switches use the guest networks to attempt to isolate them from other devices on my network. The Amazon devices use the 5 GHz guest network and the Smart...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.9 is now available

Why doesn't this remove entries in the syslog that occurred several days prior?

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.9 is now available

I started seeing lots of these from Alexa-enabled smart plugs when I upgraded to 384.9. To get rid of them I had to set a fixed channel on my 2.4G Wifi and then unplug the devices and then plug them back in.

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.7 Beta is now available

First, I'm running 384.7-Beta1 on my "real" ASUS RT-AC68U. Can someone explain what the Highest ... Lowest "buttons" do on the Bandwidth monitor tab of the Adaptive QOS panel as shown below? I read somewhere that you could drag one of those "buttons" and drop it on a device icon but I don't...

[384.7_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

I couldn't get the double-quotes trick to work. It was easier just to change my PW at No-IP. Working normally now. Thanks.

[384.7_Alpha - builds] Testing all variants.

I'm also seeing an issue with DDNS and Alpha-3 on my AC68U. I use No-IP and I now get the message "Request error! Please try again." Worked fine before with Alpha-1 and Alpha-2. I see this in the system log: Sep 6 15:54:38 watchdog: start ddns. Sep 6 15:54:38 rc_service: watchdog...

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.6 is now available

I also have a 68U. I recommend you try the 384.7-Alpha1 build. I've been using it for a while now and it works really well. I read somewhere in the forum about a potential issue with 384.6 on the 68U related to Wifi transfers. I think ASUS released a later build that corrected the issue and I...

    Replacing DNSMasq DNS with Unbound

Get a Raspberry Pi and then use this: https://pi-hole.net/ Scroll to the bottom of the linked page and read about installing Unbound on the Pi. I've been using this for a while and it works very well. --------------- RT-AC68U Merlin 384.5 (waiting on 384.7)
