    CakeQOS CakeQOS-Merlin

For what it is worth, I did some troubleshooting by turning off hardware acceleration w/o cake-qos running and confirmed there is no hardware limitation. I'm just seeing cake-qos doing its thing and wasn't used to it.

    CakeQOS CakeQOS-Merlin

After correcting the configuration on mine, my 150/20 dropped to around 115/18 (speedtests without load on the network). I wondered if there was an inherent hardware limitation I was bumping up against, or this is normal for cake-QOS to not allocate all of the bandwidth to any particular...

    CakeQOS CakeQOS-Merlin

I had an ifb9eth0 interface on my AX3000, but not an ifb9eth4 (I used ifconfig to see what existing interfaces were there). For that reason I did not change those entries on mine.

    CakeQOS CakeQOS-Merlin

This discussion helped me as well. I made the changes and all good so far!

    CakeQOS CakeQOS-Merlin

Thanks! I am happy to report that, after passing the upload and download option of docsis, I am getting great bufferbloat test results at dslreports and waveform. I also went with besteffort and everything seems to be good even under heavy load.

    CakeQOS CakeQOS-Merlin

I went to install and got this message: CakeQOS-Merlin: Cake isn't yet compatible with ASUS RT-AX3000, keep watching our thread! This is the command I ran: mkdir -p /jffs/addons/cake-qos && /usr/sbin/curl -s "https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ttgapers/cakeqos-merlin/master/cake-qos.sh" -o...

    CakeQOS CakeQOS-Merlin

Interested in perhaps giving it a go w/ the RT-AX3000 (RT-AX58U), as it appears to have kernel version 4.1.52

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

You can find the current IP addresses/ranges being used by Microsoft for Skype (and other services) in this...

Wifi connection issues since switching to AX88U

On the Wireless (Wireless - General) page. At least I have that on the RT-AX3000 (RT-AX58U). I assumed the 88U had the same settings.

Wifi connection issues since switching to AX88U

Along with disabling 802.11ax / Wi-Fi 6 mode and 160 MHz bandwidth, I wonder if this might also have something to do with Target Wake Time. That is another setting to turn off / experiment with.

Wifi connection issues since switching to AX88U

Indeed, but another question is: What's the point in having a wifi router if nothing can stay connected to it? I recently got an RT-AX3000 (decided not to get the AX88U and spent the cost difference getting two good MOCA adapters to put the RT-AC3200 in AP mode on the other side of the house)...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

I guess I was not aware, because everything kept ticking along fine in the latest version available for the RT-AC3200.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Just got to that point. I reinstalled the Merlin 384.16_beta3 firmware -> restored to Factory default -> turned power off for 5 minutes -> turned on Adaptive QOS -> rebooted -> waited 10 minutes. At that point I did a speed test and it completely ignored my bandwidth settings and maxed out the...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

The one thing I had not done was try Adaptive QOS using the current stock firmware. I just did a factory reset on stock firmware and Adaptive QOS works as expected. Now back to Merlin to see what happens. EDIT to specify the stock firmware version I tested with was ASUS RT-AX3000 Firmware...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Done better than test that, I have literally factory reset and formatted the jffs (each time) three times now (meaning I have configured this router from the ground up four times since Wednesday). More puzzling is Adaptive QOS does not seem to work at all, even before I download and install...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

It was already 0755, but I ran chmod 0755 FreshJR_QOS anyway. I then rebooted the router. It didn't make any difference, unfortunately. Thanks for the suggestion.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

I wonder if this debug output points to the cause or another symptom of the bigger problem. Upbursts and UpCbursts don't have values and I've been unable to get them to populate: FreshJR QOS v8.8 Debug: adaptive QOS: Undf Prio: 2 adaptive QOS: Undf FlowID: 1:13 adaptive QOS: Classes Present: 8...

Yes, using Skynet as well (no problems with it thus far).

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

I have been setting up an RT-AX3000 (RT-AX58U) and am getting errors with FreshJR_QOS that I never saw with my RT-AC3200. Effectively leaves it in non-functional state. Has anyone seen errors like this and have an idea for a cure? I've been trying to search this thread for answers, but did not...

[Beta] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.16 beta (and 384.13_5) are available

I believe this is part of their privacy addressing scheme. If a stateful address is not being assigned, they will change often.
