[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

The default configuration of in Asuswrt-Merlin will probably have every Ipv6 device deriving their own address through SLAAC (https://howdoesinternetwork.com/2013/slaac can explain it a bit). This means it may not be the same everytime. I have a configuration on mine that makes assignments...

DNS server configuration under ipv6-dhcp is not working

That is the router's IPv6 address, which is exactly how it has worked for years. We were talking about having a different DNS server assigned.

DNS server configuration under ipv6-dhcp is not working

My solution to this problem was to create a file named dnsmasq.postconf in /jffs/scripts with the following contents: #!/bin/sh CONFIG=$1 source /usr/sbin/helper.sh pc_replace "dhcp-option=lan,option6:23,[::]" "dhcp-option=lan,option6:23,[ipv6 address of DNS server]" $CONFIG Upon restart, it...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I made a post earier in this thread that gives the basic format, which still works under the current version: #1944 You have to edit the /jffs/scripts/FreshJR_QOS script yourself. After you ssh into the router, you can use the built-in nano text...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

I use it w/ IPv6. If you need to assign special rules to particular devices, you have to manually add your IPv6 rules to the script as the webUI only handles IPv4.

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

I wonder if that is a result of the newer binaries being available for that one? My RT-AC3200 tends to sit w/ approximately 30 MB free (of 256MB total / 88-90% memory used) most of the time without causing any issues. AiP is on (for the QOS classification, primarily).

[Release] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.13 is now available

Isn't memory there to be used? Unless it is using the free memory as some sort of swap space (which really wouldn't be free memory then), is there any operational benefit to keeping usage low?

RT AC3200 limit on the number of 2.4GB clients?

It seems a fair point that known hard limits should be disclosed on the box and advertising copy.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Once you understand how to put it back on track, in the rare circumstance it goes off the rails (we did enough debugging the other night to establish there's no showstopper happening), it's definitely nothing that should keep you from embracing the enhancements that have come along since 384.5...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

File was too large for my free pastebin account. You've got a URL for PayPal now, not sure what email address that is linked to (did not find it or have it cached). For what it is worth, the router seems to have maintained Undf FlowID: 1:13 through the night this time.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Man @FreshJR , so I waited that entire hour and looks like it didn't write the /tmp/qos.log file at all. ls: /tmp/qos.log: No such file or directory I looked at the nvram values and qos_debug is set to 1: qos_debug=1

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

The only unusual things I see in the log between those two times seem to be about dnsmasq, which should not be related? I have not seen these entries before, though: dnsmasq[304]: failed to send packet: Operation not permitted dnsmasq[304]: message repeated 45 times: [ failed to send packet...

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Now this is weird... [Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

Running current version and I left it stock. As part of my troubleshooting, I uninstalled and reinstalled as well.

[Release] FreshJR Adaptive QOS (Improvements / Custom Rules / and Inner workings)

To this end, if I need to bite the bullet and do a nuke and pave of my entire router configuration and test after that, I'll go ahead with it. Restoring all of my config is a bit of a heavy lift (hence my reluctance to this point), but I will do it if that seems to be the most likely road to...
