    What does the built-in speedtest show instead of spdMerlin? It is located at Adaptive QoS > Internet Speed Direct link: http://www.asusrouter.com/AdaptiveQoS_InternetSpeed.asp Disable SPdmerlin and dn-vnstat so they are not using any CPU then test.

    So you are using Port #4 with the red stripe on the XB8? Did you try putting the XB8 in bridge mode then on the AX86 set the 2.5 port as the WAN port? By default it runs as a LAN port unless you set it to WAN. Leave Dual WAN off but set 2.5 port to be the WAN...

    For Century Link you would need two things to use your own equipment. 1. PPoE username/password 2. Device needs to be able to do VLAN tagging 201. I think you need 3.0.0.6 firmware to do VLAN tagging.

    Not sure if it is your issue but Merlin firmware now disables three things that stock has enabled. Located at the WAN > NAT passthrough tab. RTSP Passthrough H.323 Passthrough SIP Passthrough

    One thing to consider before you do. Your router is on 3.0.0.6 firmware. Currently I think Merlin only has 3.0.0.4 firmware for 88 pro.

    Your photos are showing an AC86 not an AX model as the front is different on them. If your are trying to use AX firmware then that is why it is failing. You need this firmware...

    No as this is another 3.0.0.4 release and the vlan support is in the 3.0.0.6 (9.0.0.6 beta) firmware.

    Are you using auto channel selection? If so the router could be changing to a channel number the device does not like. Try setting channels manually. Watch the wireless log and see how fast a problem device connects after changing channel number. If a long time or not at all then it does not...

    I had the same result in that section when changing to your firmware on the XT12. For some reason Asus does not provide the GPL on the website for the XT12 or I would compare stock and yours.

    Reset is not going to change what Merlin changed from stock.

    I think Merlin is still on the 3.0.0.4 firmware and if you were using the latest stock it would have been the 3.0.0.6 firmware.
