    Release RT-BE92U Firmware 3.0.0.6_102_37025 11/05/2024

I wonder if that's configuration specific, or even a hardware issue. I've had my router for more than 2 weeks as it's now past Best Buy's return period (14 days), and none of my cores ever go above 10% and they don't stay there. I've watched the graph for a few minutes at a time when logging...

Looking for info on Coaxial cabling.

For the first year, no, but yes they started with their own modem too before i got my own. It's mainly been this year I've had to deal with this. probably the second half of the year. Since I changed the line from the pole connected to the jack where the modem is, it's the same jack but...

Looking for info on Coaxial cabling.

Yep, just re-read and can confirm that's what they did here, and i simply changed the active line to the modem, and left the one that was connected causing issues disconnected.

Looking for info on Coaxial cabling.

I'm glad I caught you this morning. I had another look in the box. Here is what I think they did. They ran two lines into the apartment. One is a single connection to the jack in the office cubby. The other is to the splitter, and the only two things connected to the splitter are the bedroom...

Looking for info on Coaxial cabling.

That's the ultimate plan and why I have kept in touch with Jim from Cox so he can go ahead and start the process of doing a clean run after getting the approval of the apartment management, and me giving him the go-ahead after having more issues this morning. So there is no estimated time, the...

Looking for info on Coaxial cabling.

@degrub , I was doing some reading from people who have wired their own places, or dealing with old configs from someone else living there before them. Speaking of the splitter, it looks like since it's not connected to anything that it would be safe for me to just remove it, and put it a way...

Looking for info on Coaxial cabling.

A fresh line from the tap outside to a new jack in the living room to make sure i have a clean run to make sure I'm not dealing with aged cable or other things not maintained as they should have been from lack of care to the property. I understand your comment about the modem above as I was...

Looking for info on Coaxial cabling.

I forgot to mention that he talked to management of the apartment complex and they gave him the go ahead to install the jack and run the line. That was the first thing he verified before we moved forward. He was just waiting on me to give him the go ahead on my end if i wanted to proceed. So...

Looking for info on Coaxial cabling.

If I had been able to keep spectrum that would have been a better deal, they give out a plain modem with a 2.5G port for their 1G tier and don't charge a rental fee. Cox charges for both the modem and unlimited data. I would much rather change to fiber when I have the opportunity and have the...

Looking for info on Coaxial cabling.

I did. we found it together, and that's how I knew what to check. He's not familiar with how the apartments here were originally wired. I have his direct number so I contacted him today to reschedule the fresh run to the apartment. I also told him what I had done to stabilize my connection...

Looking for info on Coaxial cabling.

I was actually wondering about that. It seems like everything left unused was left open. It was behind a wall plate, but I was thinking unused wires, or the splitter should be covered / terminated. What about just removing the splitter and caping the unused cables? I also might do a test...

Looking for info on Coaxial cabling.

Hey all, As you know, over the past few months i've had random signal issues and dropouts with my Cox connection anything from unreasonably slow speeds to random dropout of the connection to the internet directly. I've had quite a few techs out who have checked the tap outside, and have run...

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

I don't think anyone really knows at this point. I can say this though, retiring the X86U will be a hard router for me to retire completely. Because I got the special edition, so it's a nice visual piece. None of the current models have a Gundam or any other unique edition. Asus routers...

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

Well to be honest, i haven't really paid that close attention. When ever I see an update available, I update. In terms of watching for a pattern or set schedule, I really haven't.

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

I was wondering if Asus has any regular release schedule for firmware. For example Apple and Microsoft usually release software updates typically on Tuesday, or sometime at the beginning of the week. Just wondered if Asus has a set pattern, or is theirs just random ?

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

The impression I've gotten having the same question is the SSH method looking into the directory mentioned is the only way to see if it's been updated.

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

Thank you. That's pretty much why I replaced the hardware too, that and wanting access to more than just one 2.5G ethernet port. I figured at this point, it wasn't safe long term as the main router anymore, but as a backup, it would be OK. Especially since I was looking for things that...

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

Thanks, and yes I understand all of this. I just haven't had to do it in a while. I mainly leave stuff like this disabled for security reasons unless I NEED it. Since I use macOS, or Linux most of the time, will just use the ssh command in terminal. I was mainly trying to decide if the...

    Malware damaging ASUS routers?

Thanks, I will need to enable SSH correct? I typically haven't done that after my Router capable running DD-WRT died, and that's pretty much why I decided to stick with Asus, because their stock firmware is the closest thing I've found to something like DD-WRT, compared to other brands.

Thanks, I'll just let the router manage itself then for this one.
