    Perhaps you should perform a reset to clear out any stray settings. It has worked for many of us when seemingly strange issues occurred that defied logic.

    Have you tried using different cables between your pc and the router and from the fios unit to the router?

    Yeah the OP seems like a biased assumption rather than a question. I don't use AIMesh, however, my RT-AC88U seems to be doing fine on the new firmware.

    Internal upgrade features picks this version up just fine although it didn't give me notification of a new version and I just finished upgrading to it. If I see any funny business I will report it here.

    I would suggest resetting it and manually reentering the settings.

    Have you tried power cycling it leaving it off long enough to clear out any memory strays?

    I have mine set to reboot once every week and it doesn't deviate from that schedule.
