    I just got my unit today and updated to the latest firmware and after reading this thread I decided to check and it was normal at first then a few seconds later core 1 pegged at 100%.

    The lan port lights never came on from the minute I first powered it up and finally nothing worked so back it went. I must have reset it at least 15 times.

    Well I can emphatically tell you that I got a lemon of a BE96U this morning that had defective ethernet ports. I must of reset it 15 times before admitting defeat and boxing it up for its trip back to Best Buy. Even the lan status lights on the unit would never turn on. Hopefully my ax88u...

    I just bought this router today and before the firmware update the 10g lan port worked but afterwards it doesn't work. Any advice?

    I just got back home from BB with a new BE96U so it won't be an issue much longer. Edit: BE96 is defective so back it goes and the ax88u lives on.

    I'm glad to see a new firmware as my unit was starting to randomly disconnect which had me considering buying a new router.

    I'm on the fence about this as my ax88u is over 3 years old now and my local bb has this one in stock. I really like the 98 pro better but only the asus store actually has it in stock.

    I had this router in my bag at the Asus store a few minutes ago and decide that I should come back here and see what the current owners say. I think that I'll wait for BB or Amazon to get it in stock before I buy so I can get an extended warranty.

    I do not run in aimesh mode which could be a source of trouble as could smart connect which I have turned off. I run the 2.4 and 5ghz bands as separate with wpa2/wpa3 security and dual wan enabled in failover fallback mode. I have a mix of dhcp and static clients with aiprotection, firewall...

    Last time that happened to me I had to reflash the firmware which fixed the bad behavior.

    I checked in the router earlier and it didn't show anything then I came here and found this so I just updated. Hopefully this will correct the lockups I was having with the previous version.

    More lockups have led me to set the reboot schedule to nightly. Edit: A new firmware was released yesterday but my router did not show it, however, there's a thread on it in the forum. I have updated to it in hopes that it corrects the issues I was having.

    I had mine set to reboot twice a week when that happened not to mention that it lasted less than two days and I don't have that many things attached to it. I've been looking at 802.11be offerings but they are slim pickings right now and I really don't want to buy another Wi-Fi 6 unit.

    RT-BE96U Tri-Band

    My local BB only offers Netgear and TP-Link Wi-Fi 7 routers ATM. Seems like Asus keeps pushing back the launch date each time I check on them.
