"Dirty" upgraded AC86U from 386.9. Running since 4 hours. Nothing to report. Thank you VERY much Best regards

"Virtual hardwire" - my first thread here. A bit all over the place.

Dear devinrhode2, Thank you for the detailed input and welcome. You mention a gigabit plan, but you don't specify the upload. Someone mentioned 50Mbps. It makes me believe you use Cable/Docsis like myself. About "- Netflix 4k allegedly only needs 15 Mbps, which I find hard to believe, but...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.9 is now available for AC models

Dear, No mesh here, just one AC-86U. Installed 386.9 approx. 4 days ago. All good. Thank you very much RMerlin and testers. FYI 386.9 seems to work better with my wifi clients than 386.7.x (mostly for an Android 9 client in a "remote" location that sometimes failed to reconnect after...

Searchability with DuckDuckGo - "site:" directive

Indeed, bing.com and ddg behave similarly for those searches. Thank you Dave for the idea. In my eyes, it means additional incentive for someone to look into this. BTW, I don't care personally. I hardly ever search the forum that way.

Searchability with DuckDuckGo - "site:" directive

Dear, Thank you very much for the forum platform and the community. I recently noticed that searches on DuckDuckGo don't always return the expected result for snbforums.com. I have no clue if this is on your side, but I felt like reporting it. Search engines allow you to add directives like...

    Release [Fork] Asuswrt-Merlin 374 LTS release 52E7

Dear @Jerom7 , Thank you for your past experience reports. Could you share if you finally managed to configure "Media bridge" mode ? Did you find a workaround with 52E7 ? Did you install another version ? I'm experimenting with Media Bridge on an AC56U running LTS52E7 (latest public release)...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.7 is now available for all models

Thank you RMerlin for the release, and to all those that contributed e.g. as beta testers. After 6 days, all good on my AC-86U. Best regards

connmon connmon - Internet connection monitoring

Hello, It's not a nice polished script like Jack Yaz produces them (e.g. the documentation is probably awful). But, if you are familiar with Linux and scripts, and you take my shell script file at https://github.com/waluwaz/connmon update it as you like it, and replace the one from Jack...

Best setting to reduce latency for real-time audio applications

The original post doesn't provide much context/information. Assuming there is an unspecified intermittent problem, and the problem is under your control, my vote for most promising single setting goes to Adaptive qos/qos/cake. Good luck Regards

Belmon - new beta addon (modmon for belgian VOO modem - Technicolor CGA4233 )

Happy about your progress. I can't talk for Jack, but as far as I'm concerned I have no interest in working on the add-on to "auto detect either a Technicolor or Arris and adjust dynamically". I guess 99,9% of people having a cable modem have just one single cable modem. So, the usage scenario I...

Belmon - new beta addon (modmon for belgian VOO modem - Technicolor CGA4233 )

I would replace blank with comma, then the tags and units with nothing. Modmon has something to read the nth item of the line based on a delimiter (e.g. Comma). Probably around line 800. Best of luck

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5 is now available

Dear Forum members, RMerlin, Thank you very much RMerlin for the new release. It's been running for 24 hours flawlessly on an AC-86U. For the install, I unmounted the USB stick, and, on a fresh reboot, it was "first time right". :) I wish to make a suggestion. I really feel every release...

Belmon - new beta addon (modmon for belgian VOO modem - Technicolor CGA4233 )

Dear forum members, I am pleased to announce my first addon. It is a fork from modmon from JackYaz. I have nowhere near the experience of regular addon authors. And belmon is beta software, which has never been tested with another modem than mine. But still, if you always wanted to use modmon...

modmon modmon - WebUI for monitoring Virgin Hub 3 cable modem stats

Dear Jack, dear fellow enthusiasts, It might not be super in line with forum "Etiquette" to post three messages in a row, but I want to share my good vibe and send more gratefulness to Jack. In just a few days, I could fork modmon and create a hack that gets data from a pretty different router...

modmon modmon - WebUI for monitoring Virgin Hub 3 cable modem stats

Dear Jack, dear fellow enthusiasts, My modem is the reference CGA4233 from the VOO ISP in Belgium, the contractor of VOO for the modem is Technicolor. A very similar modem is also used by Vodaphone in Germany https://kabel.vodafone.de/static/media/Technicolor_VodafoneStation_CGA4233DE.pdf . The...

modmon modmon - WebUI for monitoring Virgin Hub 3 cable modem stats

Dear Jack, dear fellow enthusiasts, As I don't have a supported modem, and at first I didn't even remember this, I tried an alternate approach, let me share this for the unlucky ones that don't have a supported modem and might end up here. And as, in this thread, we all rely on DOCSIS, it's...

Release Asuswrt-Merlin 386.5 is now available

Thank you RMerlin, Asus, all the testers and addon developers for this wonderful platform. 386.5 is running fine since a few hours, after a dirty upgrade from 386.4 on AC86U. The upgrade didn't work the first time, even though I had stopped the automated execution of connmon and spdMerlin...

Dual WAN route all through Primary WAN except one device - RT-AX89X

Very helpful input, and that 2015 thread was also somehow entertaining. Great pick. Wish you a great year.

Dual WAN route all through Primary WAN except one device - RT-AX89X

Dear FernandoF, "should only be done within the valid DHCP IP Pool". Actually, on my AC-86U with Merlin, I do the exact opposite. All my manually assigned IPs are outside the pool. I do this, so that automatically assigned IPs would be more noticeable if/when I look at connected devices. For...

Dual WAN route all through Primary WAN except one device - RT-AX89X

Hello, I'm possibly the least expert at this, but I would suggest a minor change: start the dhcp pool at 128. And keep the manual assignment at 127. I'm not sure if the automatic assignment would properly take into account the manual assignments so as not to reassign the 127. If you start...
