    Asus GT-AC5300 Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.384.81099

Here's an interesting bug: I prefer my LEDs to be switched off, but after the firmware update, the LAN LED—and only the LAN LED—stays illuminated through button toggles and reboots. Anyone else seeing this or able to replicate it?

    Asus GT-AC5300 Firmware Version 3.0.0.4.384.81099

Oh, man, that interface is infinitely better than it was. The old one burned my eyes.

    ASUS RT-AC88U Firmware version 3.0.0.4.384.81116

Anyone installed this on an 88U AiMesh node? When I check for new firmware via my 5300 GUI, it doesn't show any new firmware available for the 88U. I was thinking about updating manually in case there are node improvements, but maybe .81116 is intended for primary routers?

    ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 (Owners)

I wish they'd do away with all the graphics and glitz and just go with a far less busy aesthetic for all their routers and apps, RoG especially. I don't know why "gamer" equates to "tacky" in Asus' eyes.

Setting up link aggregation on GT-AC5300

Now I'm confused. I've got LAG set up on what I thought were LAN ports 1 and 2 (the same as my RT-AC88U). It's connected to a LAG-enabled Linksys LGS308 managed switch. All seems to be working well, though I haven't done any speed tests. Is there confirmation that 5 & 6 are the correct LAG ports?

    ROG Rapture GT-AC5300 (Owners)

As I posted in the firmware update thread: I can confirm that, even with the current firmware, the 5GHz #2 radio is lost to dedicated backhaul on an AiMesh setup on a fresh, straight-out-of-the-box GT-AC5300.

Interested to know if this restores the tri-band capabilities to dual-band AiMesh setups.

    ASUS GT-AC5300 firmware release 3.0.0.4.384.45713 4/18/2019

Skynet Skynet - Router Firewall & Security Enhancements

Apologies if this was mentioned in one of the previous 169 pages, but why is the USB drive required? I'm contemplating installing Skynet because there's one IP address that will not leave my network alone. "EXPLOIT Remote Command Execution via Shell Script -2" every two or three hours.

    Mystery MAC in AiProtection

Was checking the AiProtection console and saw the following under Two-Way IPS alerts: The odd thing about the top-hit MAC address is that it doesn't appear to exist on my network. It's a Cisco device, apparently, but I don't own any Cisco-branded devices and the MAC doesn't appear to be...

    Asus RT-AC68U v3.0.0.4.384.20942 2018/05/21

In forums that don't stifle discussion because their bread is buttered on a certain side, there are several reports that the firmware is acceptable for that-which-must-not-be-named.

    Fing Fingbox Reviewed

I was a backer during the IndieGoGo campaign and have been pleased with the FingBox. I'm with @chamberc in liking it for its excellent consolidation of network info — it's much better than my RT-AC88U in that regard. With the FingBox, I can associate different devices with different users to see...

    RT-AC88U - 3.0.0.4.382.18991 (New features)

Are you using DNS-O-Matic? I had a problem with that service because it's designed to update other service, not function as a DDNS service in and of itself. Once I picked a specific DDNS provider, Let's Encrypt provided me with a certificate.

    Asus RT-AC88U dropping IPv6 connections

After flashing to .7266 back in February, I noticed the IPv6 drops too. Same problem as everyone else is having, that is, the 88U obtains an IPv6 address after both the modem and router are rebooted, then loses it again in about an hour. In the past I used to be able to run the command service...

    Asus RT-AC88U dropping IPv6 connections

Well, my AirPort Express has been back online for several days with IPv6 set to Link Local. This has prevented any further IPv6 errors so far. Although I'm aware that Asus' IPv6 implementation has been a bit flaky for some users, in this case it's the AirPort Express that seems to be causing...
