    GT-AX6000 lack of firmware updates

Reading the Synology community forum it seems there may be no backout/rollback to their SRM updates? ..so maybe not so good even if they are often.

GL.iNet worth a try? Any advantage over ASUS?

Specs look really nice and if the openwrt gets patches and improvements promptly it seem great value for the money. I read there was some 2.4 range problem possibly being fixed?

What are my options Netgear R9000 Replacement with at least 6 LAN ports built in?

I would just connect a switch to the extra 2.5 port of one of the routers with either an extra Lan port...a 2.5 Gbit switch would be best.

    GT-AX6000 lack of firmware updates

Synology updates appear to be every few months..just sayin. If I'm honest I thought it'd get more updates but its working fine.

    Comcast wants me to upgrade

Dont have Comcast but if their not suggesting a 4.0 modem I'm stumped what 3.1 modem can do better...perhaps they want you to get one with 2.5 Gbit port to gain better download speed? Are ther 3.1 cable modems with more than 8 upload channels for upload?

Release ASUS GT-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_21514

Sounds like a use case/combination of settings the designers didn't think of..

    Netgear vs Asus

I did see Synology comes out with new firmware every couple of months. If they had just put 2 2.5Gbit ports on the RT6600ax...

Release ASUS GT-AX6000 Firmware version 3.0.0.6.102_21514

I'm ok they get it right and put some solid testing into it. It would be frustrating to get more frequent updates with bad bugs. If I wanted no updates in 2+ years I can go back to Linksys.

ASUS AX86U still a good deal?

I think the SB6183 is a Docsis 3.0 modem... I upgraded to the SB8200 and when my ISP finally turned on Docsis 3.1 I noticed better consistency in my speeds. If I were getting a modem today I would spring for Arris S33 ...2.5 Gbit port.

    Arris SB8200 or S33?

I would get the S33 today..why limit the WAN port. That said my SB8200 has been super solid.

    Optomizing SOHO network

dB? I don't know...50 to 60dB? But some devices and routers can do better with distance and low signal.. Did you place a streaming device close to the router and see if that is not choppy?

    Optomizing SOHO network

Seems like a sound setup.. you could try a new router or access point to replace the tplink.. Try a streaming device right next to the TPLink to see if it's choppy to see ?
