    That still seems an aweful lot of money for an R9000.. but Im not familar with what other new routers cost by you. If I wanted to keep running Voxel I'd look for a used R9000 or R7800..as the hardware is older and one should not pay a lot for it.

    Have to agree here...Netgears firmware is what prevents me from considering netgears router hardware which is usually quite good. Have heard nothing but good stuff about Synologys firmware.

    Right ..Netgear makes good stuff when it works. But I couldn't see spending 300+ on router with only 90 days of support and no wait to even report a bug.

    My netgear routers performed well but when I had a problem there was no solution from netgear short of third party firmware. Both routers were unsupported by netgear after 90 days.

    New router advice

    I would stick with the asus routers only because of firmware updates. But others may have good luck with TPLink. It's interesting and sad how without Voxel firmware I also would not use Netgear. I know many popular asus ones here do not have 6 Lan ports.

    Oh? that is odd.. I dont run my laptop directly connected...direcly connected is a switch with my wo.rk mac and PC.. never disconnected. Also directly connected...roku, xbox ... no disconnects.

    Oh? disconnects of what? I found this firmware to be the best yet for my small setup..laptop connects at 160 Mhz, has been stable and speeds are great.

    Oh so the GT-AX6000v2 is qualcomm...could lose merlin support? .. Still be so curious on its performance as the Netgear R7800 qualcomm radios worked so well.
