    https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1039053 In the WAN aggregation FAQ they show using the wan and 1 lan port. (an ax88 in the example). But it sound like you want to use the 2.5 WAN port as LAN only and use one of the 1G LAN ports as your WAN?

    Thanks for explaining that as I dont use AIMesh yet.. I did get rid of my cheap TPLink 1G switches as they would not really do 1Gbit even though they said they would.. Replaced with netgear GS 1G switches..old but really do 1G.

    I read conflicting things on this router on the forums.. that is has more transmit power on the lower 5Ghz frequencies than the AX86U? But then someone said in their environment the AX86S? did better through their walls. I agree the price needs to be lower/enticing to try it.

    How do you enable in the Asuswrt firmware so that local devices can run host/nslookup on a local IP and get its hostname that the router has recorded?

    I tried this. I do get the name my router has in its device table for most devices such as my roku, my phone, etc... But other devices like my Canon printer do not return the name from the device list. So i think it may somewhat device specific also.

    That's an interesting thing..the date..ill checking it again. I have a yellow warning by the time zone in the firmware but it looks correct with my computer which is correct.

    I tried to set up https on my AX86U..asus firmware.. i know not related. Using the export the certifcate from the adminUI and import to my browser (chrome). Trying to connect https on 8443 it doesn't like the asus certificate ..given from the firmware? It does not look like something...

    I noticed this on my AX86U ..the 36-48 channels did not come in well far in the house and I get a better speed with 149-161. So you're saying I can get better or same signal with the GT-ax6000 on 36-48??
