    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

IMHO 384.4_0 is a better choice than either 384.3 or 384.4_2 for whatever reason on a RT-AC68u. I have run all 3 but only came across oddities on .3 and .4_2 in my application. Cant speak for other platforms.

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

Thank you for the thought. After reloading the settings from backup it finally disabled the http access when I applied it. So its possible Asus does that for some features but not this one yet. (Afterwards, I decided to go back to 384.4_0 and wait for the next new 68u beta) Thank you for all...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

On a side note what does the bandwidth monitor actually do as far as the priorities settings and the ability to drag clients up and down the page? Is this meant to be a hardware prioritization system in the absence of QOS. Or does it also work together with QOS somehow? I was figuring that...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

I have 384.4_2 on Asus Rt-ac68u. In this firmware release the setting of the authentication method from BOTH to HTTPS only does not appear to work. I have changed it from both to HTTPS only and hit apply once. when I checked from the local network I could still log in from HTTP. So I...

    Load balancing documentation?

Just wondering if anyone has seen a link to documentation describing the load balancing feature for dual wan and what to expect from it in greater detail than what is on the asus FAQ? I tried the asus support site/manual and could not find anything in the manual, also struck out on the...

Debating whether to update to 384

If its not broke I generally say no need to 'fix it'. So as long as you are getting security updates stay on 380. While moving to 384 was painless (merlin did a great job) I get the sense that Asus has not attended to a lot of things that needed fixing in the rush to get their mesh f/w to...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

I have a 68u as well. your best bet would be to go to the Admin page and the restore tab. Then do a 'factory initialize'. then rekey your settings by hand/manually. don't reload any old saved configs. After that you can better assess what still does not work.

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.4 is now available

This support link should be what you want. https://www.asus.com/support/Product/ContactUs/Services/questionform/?lang=en One thing I noticed is that '1st levels' reviewing these communications must be paid to close tickets fast. Generally you hear back that some wizard is working on your...

384.3 adaptive qos bandwidth monitor bug with VPN Client

FWIW I see that that with the VPN client ON (openvpn) the bandwidth monitor on the 'adaptive qos page' is showing downloading traffic to the device as uploading. When the VPN client is disabled the display corrects itself. This is on a 68u and appears for both wired and wireless devices...

    Openvpn Server very slow speed

You are describing what sounds like standard features on 384.3. Its been a while since I ran 380.69 and am fuzzy on what features it had . When you go to the VPN section is there a tab called VPN Client? If not I would suggest upgrading to 384.3 and do a factory "initialize" followed by...

    Openvpn Server very slow speed

I am running simultaneous Openvpn Server with 2 users, the Openvpn client with 4 devices and Tor client with 1 device. My tests all show I am getting near the maximum throughputs I could expect after accounting for overhead. All this is on 384.3 but I started with some of the above at 380.69...

Firmware 384.3 - is Nat Loopback buggy?

You did not say whether this was the Asus loopback or the Merlin loopback. I would try the Asus loopback. If it still does not work I would go to the admin page and do a factory "initialize" and then manually type in your settings. do NOT reload from a saved config. After that let the forum...

[Beta 384/NG] Asuswrt-merlin 384.4 Beta is now available

Is this claim model specific? Upon checking my current traffic analyzer stat tab it shows my monthly numbers at 300GB Down and 40GB Up for all apps. So I cant say that happens with RT-AC68u on 384.3

AI Protection - Malicious Site Blocking

Here is an example of what's going on. https://www.digitaltrends.com/computing/eset-malware-images-alpha-channel-browser-defense-broxu-stegano/ Merlin is right u should not just hide it but should work toward identifying and curing the cause.

    ac86u - samba CPU usage

I think you are posting in the wrong forum. 384.3 is not official asus firmware. rather its the alternative merlin firmware. As for your question I don't think there is anything wrong with having the cpu run at max to do the job quickly.

Two-Way IPS: Exploit Remote Command Execution, Netcore Router Backdoor Access

Yeah I was reading an article the other day from a university researcher that said someone with a 1 Gbps internet connection and a script should be able to scan the entire IP4 address range in 45 minutes now days. They found that there are still 2.5 million devices out there with...

    [Release 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.3 is now available

Certainly there are potential applications for Aimesh to displace existing wireless wifi solutions. However its been done for over a decade using wifi gear set in repeater mode or access point mode when covering outdoor areas and warehouses. These sort of 'old' settings are already built...

[Beta 384/NG] Asuswrt-Merlin 384.3 Beta is now available

I don't know. This is the thread for 384.3 beta 3 firmware which merges Asus GPL 384_10007. Perhaps someone running that Asus official code can compare if need be? I was noting them here mostly for those people keeping a list of things to investigate or fix. If this area of code is closed...
